Please give your personal review of your drag racing tire(s).

Please answer the following and feel free to add more info along the way.

1. Which brand (slicks, ET streets, DRs, etc) tires are you using, what size, and what compound?
2. Why did you choose your specific brand over others?
3. Are you using tubes?
4. What will your next drag race tires be, if not the same and why?
5. Review of what you like/dislike about your current tires.

Are you using tubes?

I only have experience with Hoosier slicks (I don't have them anymore), which I went with because it did not require tubes.

OP, as far as the wheels go, since you have an 07, I can't be too certain. However, the previous year Z owners use 15"x8", 5x4.5" bolt circle, 5.5" backspacing wheels (I had this set up also).

I have M/T ET street drag radials..R2 compound 275/50/15 (26" tall). Another guy I race with was using Hoosiers and he didn't like them (DR"S). He said he was having traction issues so he switched over to the ones I use and no more traction issues. He went with a M/T ET street drag radial 275/60/15(28" tall). Granted he launches at 5k+

I run the MT ET Streets on 16x8.5 Z32TT rears. Although I don't like to and often don't, you can drive to/from the track on them. They are a good compromise of longevity and cost.

Is anybody using tubes for the M/T tires? I know certain tires require inner tubes, which is why I opted not to get M/T previously. Are tubes necessary?

I had the Hoosier slicks (D05 compound, 9" wide, 26" tall) and they hook up like no other, granted I was only putting down 253 to the wheels when I was launching on slicks.

Basically, I just want to gather some info and opinions on various drag tires (slicks, DRs, ET streets, etc) and compare.

I'd like to know the answer to this, too.

I think Julian has skinnies on his Z. I don't know what size the wheels or tires are, though.

JB...the wheels Julian has on his skinnies look like the spare tire wheel.

Yea, I just meant that the sizing info would be interesting.

I'd like to get a nice set of Pro-Stars...

Heres what I have written down in my specs book that I keep....

Skinnies : 26" tall x 4.5 x 15
Pro Stars : 15 x 4 with a 2 1/4 backspace 5 x 4 1/2 bolt circle

The back space I'm not sure of especially if you have after market or brembo front calipers
