first time at the track

A local shop around here had a drag day tonight at Milan(in case anyone is familiar from around here). It was my first time ever running at a track, but unfortunately it was 95 and humid, so everyone's times were suffering. I basically hovered around 13.9-14.0 all night. I don't have a picture of the time slip yet, but I figure I'll share my best run of the night:

reaction - .0608
60ft. - 2.0912
330ft. - 5.9274
1/8th ET - 9.0212
1/8 mph - 80.64
1000' ET - 11.6571
1000' mph - 93.17
1/4 ET - 13.8732
1/4 mph - 101.56

Like I said, it was hot and humid, so no one's cars were running very strong tonight. I basically slipped the clutch from about 3500rpms for my launches all night. I tried one launch at a little over 4k, but my clutch lost pressure and hit the floor . I had the slave cylinder thing done a while ago, but it still happened anyways. So after that, my clutch was smelling and I only tried 2 more passes, but I didn't want to push it too hard. Anyways, I'm thinking on a cooler day I could shave some time off there, but not too bad for my first time ever at a strip I think(this time was from my second run of the night).

SLC had the luck of getting the hottest and most humid day all summer for their track event.

I would have been running with the AC. It was nasty out yesterday

Yah, I know I should bee able to run faster than basically a consistent 13.9-14.0, but the weather yesterday was just not gonna let it happen. Oh well, I still was beating some nice cars(STI, WRX, 3000GT VR4, Mach 1 Mustang, wtc.), since they were all stuck with the same hot humid air. Haha, but for my own pride I wanted a lower number I guess.

Nice work man. I'm impressed and embarrassed of your 60ft times. I just can't figure it out.. I wasn't slipping or hopping, so I must just not be getting on the gas fast enough. My 60ft were 2.3-2.4... oh well. Gotta practice some more

Haha, I'm telling you, that Nismo LSD just gives me crazy traction for the launches. Had my clutch not fell to the floor on the one run, I think I could have hit 2.0 flat, if not maybe a 1.99999. That was the only run where I tried a harder launch than 3.5k all night though.

I just had my first time at the track as well here at Capitol Raceway, but I dare not post my times lol.

60' times were horrid in my two runs, ~2.4 since I either spun or bogged.
Trap speed was actually higher, at about 102-103

I really need to get my launch down and go back

Edit: may as well post the slip so perhaps someone can help lol

Also, I'm fairly certain it was NOT 109 degrees lol. It was most likely in the low to mid 90s with a LOT of humidity, but I doubt the index was as high as 109

Well for you, Im sure you realize its your 60'. Track temp may have been taken down on the track, so that might have been the temp, ON the track.

OP, good stuff. Not a bad run at all for your first time out. I would think you should be able to hit 13.5 or so when its cooler outside and that is awesome.

I stopped racing in July and August because of the temperature. Personally it takes a physical toll on me to spending the day in the sun when it is 85 plus degrees. So I give you credit for stamina.

The timeslip has a noteworthy number: trap speed. 102.1 MPH is OK.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm going to wait until it gets cooler to go again and maybe pick up a pair of DRs. All of the Zs I saw that day were running horrible times
