Need help improving
Hey Everyone, been an owner of a 08 Nismo for a bit and wanted some help, tips and maybe some verification.
After my break in period I've been working on my launches and 0-60 times for a little while. I don't typically drag race or street race anyone. It's just for personal satisfaction I guess. That being said, my 0-60 mph times suck. I've searched and read of all the variables and possible flaws I may be creating on my behalf. I'm thinking it's my shifting. I recently picked up that Dynolicious software for the iPhone and have been practicing with that. I know it's not totally accurate, but it's fairly consistent with times I've clocked myself....maybe 5 hundreths off at most? I shoved some of my practice runs into excel and compared it to some other guys' results on this forum with the Dynolicious software. It seems my 30-40 and 50-60 mph times are killing me. Is this because of my shifting and my starts?? I shift at redline and launch at about 2 to 2.5K rpm. I know it takes practice and I've been trying to feather the clutch out on the launch without peeling out. Time1 - Time 16 is me. Runs 1 and 2 on the far right is some guys off of this forum. "Fastest Time" is what I calculated from my fastest splits. Times are in seconds. Let me know what you guys think it going on. Any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated!

This practice is done on the street or drag strip?

True, but the time I'm comparing it to was done on the street.
Dynolicious!!! You can watch the vid if you already haven't. I can't see his mods creating a significant difference in power from mine. Especially when the Nismo Z is supposedly clocked at 5.1 to 5.3 sec 0-60 mph. The 5.1 to 5.3 sec. was most likely done on a properly prepared strip, but would it really make a whole second difference? I don't think it's impossible to create a significant difference, but as far as what's shown above, is there anything else you can point out besides the conditions of the asphalt???
