So I wanted to get some base number for the Z tonight. Just a note this is my first time to race RWD car at the track so it took me a few runs to get it right so here was my best slip. My car is bone stock except a cone filter if that counts for anything
This was at hobbs, new mexico and the DA for the night was around 6000 so my corrected time would have been a 13.6, there was a 07/08 Nismo 350 out there running 14.5~14.6 so I thought I did pretty good, I went from a 15.2 to 14.7 and I still could prolly work on my 60ft times but the air sucks ass here

I've had had way better reaction times believe me, my best is .003 but reaction times don't matter. The guy that was running the light sucked, as soon as you got staged he would start the lights and didn't give you a second to get your rev's up, I prolly wont be going back to this track because of the way the water box is setup you have to go through it and can't go around it which sucks when you are on street tires

Which is why I usually try to prestage before the other car trips the light. The track up here is the same way. If the other car stages first, and then you try to stage, once you trip the second light the tree starts.
If you stage first, it will give you more time to prepare.
I wouldn't say that your times are bad. R/T is good. Anything under a .500 is considered a red light where i race in SC. They may run it different at different. I was running an 1/8 mile track at 9.060 sec, .693 r/t @ 80mph with the same mods as you so you are right on track. I am running 275s on the rear though that help hook. Do you have a problem getting traction?
can anyone explain why elevation factor play a big role in 1/4 mile time?
its not elevation that plays a big role its more density altitude, the more dense the air is, the more air that gets into the engine and its a basic thing is about making hp is the more air = more horsepower, so the less dense the air is the less amount of air is that is getting into the engine and the less horsepower you are making the slower your perform, so if you are at sea level the air is very dense and so alot more air is getting into the engine and thus the air is thicker and more air is getting into the engine and it performs better and the better the track times are because you are getting the most out of the engine, its a basic concept, more air = more hp, that is the basic concept of making power, air = power and then it gets more in dept then that but once you understand that basic principal the easier it is to understand how hp is made
