Default A Puzzling Track Day

Here are the slips from all runs i made! I consider myself not the best driver, and i'm hoping for some improvements! I pulled a mesmerizing 1.89- 60", which completely threw me off, as i expected to have run faster 1/4 mile. Well, i will let you guys give me your feedback.
This is a 2007 HR with bolt ons and technosquare tune. Lowered 2+ inches!

Someone must have put glue on the staging pad. Nice driving.

Times are good but I see one number that stands out for improvement: 1/8 mile trap speed. 80.9 MPH. This number is the result of second gear acceleration. One of the time slips shows a 82.1 MPH 1/8 mile trap.

The 1.89 was my very first run. Also, i was the first car to run on the track after the prep.
The track elevation isn't much. It's Pacific Raceways in Kent WA

Specific Date and Time for your passes? The temp, humidity, etc can play a big role... not just the elevation.

did this launch "feel" faster than the rest? 1.89 and 2.1 is a very noticeable difference. I'm not trying to talk you down or anything, but it might have been a glitch in the timing system. cause i've "ran" a 1.6 60' before at pacific raceways, but i know for a fact that it wasn't a 1.6.

decent times, but your stiff ass megan coilovers are killing your traction i think. maybe you should try putting on your kwv2's for next week...

for those wondering, i've heard reports of elevation on this track being 150, 200, 280, and 350 ft. i have no idea which one is right. judging from the landscape around that area, i'd guess its somewhere around the 300' mark

as a matter of fact it did feel like a really good and fast launch! I dumped the clutch at 4000 rpms and it hooked. Like i said, i was the first car to run on the track after it had just been prepped! I don't know really.
And yes, the megan kills my traction!!!!!!

Good info! My buddy runs his vette there I wonder what he uses for the elevation.

what are the spring rates for the megans? and do you have adjustable compression and rebound?
what tires were you on?
besides that 'freak' 60' everything else with coming out of the hole seems consistent. did you change anything else with launchign on your other passes?

yeah they are adjustable. The rears were set to full soft during all runs. The rears are 12kgs. I was experimenting during all runs. I was shifting at redline at first (8K rpm), but after that i started shifting at 7k and 7.2k rpms where i hit slightly higher trap speed!
Second -third grinds bad.

those springs are REALLY heavy. even you go you full soft on the shocks, you don't have enough traction to make the car squat with that stiff of a spring.
run full soft compression and full stiff rebound. stiff rebound means the shocks won't extend as fast and the car will stay squated longer. running slightly lower rear psi will help the car bite a bit more too.

Nice driving. I really need to get over to PR. I'm just not keen with the tow bill back to Bremerton when my house is 10 minutes from the track here.

If you have SA shocks run full soft front full stiff rear to prevent any wheelhop that could occur.

As far as times, the pass with the good 60' you hadn't launched hard enough. Your 330' time is over .1 seconds off where it should be for a "record" level pass. If you look back at my slips or Veetec's, you'll see 5.5/5.6 range 330' times. That means that not only are we getting through the 60' traps fast, but we are keeping the engine from bogging as we finish first and get into second. If you don't launch with enough RPM, and the engine bogs, the car won't pull through the 330' as fast, and you're times will look like they do. If you launch higher and use more clutch to keep the tires planted through the 60', then the engine won't bog, and you'll have a faster time.

Good runs though, I also wouldn't lower the tire pressure that much, I found mine grip best between 33-36 psi.
