My first run. Stock rims, tires (PS2 245/45/18), suspension, everything except the TT kit. I did let the air pressure down to around 20psi.
My tires grabbed a lot harder than I thought they would and I bogged out bad. I don't lose traction at any point after 1st gear when I was WOT. I pussy footed it so much in 1st gear I never lost traction in any gear for that matter.
As you can hear in the video, I left the windows down...other than obvious safety/rule violation I don't know if that affected the time or trap speed.
I have since added a brake boosting switch so i can do proper burnouts without having to pull the brake light fuse. In this run, I didn't have the fuse pulled and the ECU was cutting throttle as I held the brakes.
I hope better tires and lots of practice will get me better times.
i almost beat you with my old supercharger setup, blowing my motor at the top of second, coasting the rest of the way to a 13.4 @ 89mph.
bog eh? at least you didnt wheel hop like i did the last time out with my setup and completely destroy the clutch.
before even analyzing the rest of the slip, your 60ft is horrible just like mine. anything above 2.1 with street tires is unacceptable imho. practice practice practice. i wish i had more time to do so but then again i dont since i seem to break schit everytime out.
If you look on some of the mustang and ls1 websites it isn't uncommon to find really good deals on a drag wheel & DR/slick combo. You could easily pick up a second with a good tire.

I am afraid of wheel hop and breaking something to be honest. I plan on getting stiffer sub frame bushings, and maybe solid/poly diff and engine mounts.

By the way I saw you there with your ice bags that night
Impressive times!

If you want.....I could let you borrow my 275 MT drag radials for a day of passes. These things stick like absolute glue. They won't clear brembo's though.

112mph trap with a run like that is decent. In ideal conditions with that power it would go 11's @ 115mph+
I dont see a need for poly bushings in frame or engine. They vibrate like crazy and make your car feel like a $hitbox IMO.
You would have less chance of breaking an axle do to wheel hop on slicks but would have a higher chance of killing your clutch/ snapping an axle. Run it again!
BTW-that announcer has been there for at least 10yrs since I started dragging at Crapitol Raceway hearing his voice made me laugh.

Our 3rd gear goes to 88 and since you trapped higher than that, you blew your engine somewhere in 4th and then coasted down to 89 at the end of the run. After all, without a properly working engine, you cannot accelerate.

The Mustangs have the same bolt pattern but weaker offsets, I think. The LS equipped cars have a different bolt pattern and backspacing.
OP, you did decent, but I'm sure you already know that you'll need a lot more practice to get some good times. With your trap, even on street tires, you should be able to do at least mid to high 12s.
Also, lowering your tire pressure to 20 psi aren't good for your tires and won't get you a better short time. Additionally, you don't need any other mods to run 12s, other than the driver mod.

I was just pointing out that there are some deals to be had and that is isn't uncommon to find a set-up that will work. You're right though in that a drag wheel from an lsx car won't fit on our cars. I should have been more clear.

Yeah, I knew what you meant. I just figured I'd save the OP (and others) the trouble of looking at those forums only to find out that nothing fits.
They should look for cheap wheels with the proper bolt pattern with decent offset somewhere and just go looking for drag racing tires in those forums or craigslist.

thank you for that correction sir. it was indeed 3rd going into 4th. in 4th the revs were going up but my car wasnt accelerating almost like a slipping clutch. i shut it down after letting off giving it gas with the same results. it was a sad day.

Yeah, 3rd or 4th. Anyway, we need to go again when the weather gets better around here. I need a low-low 12 sec run and you need a 11 sec run.
I looked over Ranger's site about driver mod, I am taking notes for the next run. I decided to keep everything bone stock tires and all until I have found a consistent limit out of the hole.
I am eyeballing some older rx-7 16" wheels for drag radials when I get to that point.
Thanks for the tips guys.

Good choice.
