Intense runs 28" IIRC, and Jeremy did on his runs.
Its a tight fit, some need to do more than roll the fenders, they need to cut them.
I guess you're trying to keep it in 4th?
I tried a 27" tire (27 X 10.5") and didnt like it, the car reacted horribly to it with the use of radials up front. Im sure with bias ply skinnies it could have been much more controllable.

****, I don't want to get the tires and then have them rub. I will NOT cut my fenders.
Yes, trying to keep it in 4th. I bet I'm giving up at least a tenth by having to shift to 5th.
I'm done with bias ply tires, Going with a nice fat M/T DR.
Under launch the car will squat but the camber will go negative giving more clearance.
Its up top where I would be worried about it rubbing. How far you have your fenders rolled also makes a big difference in clearance.
Easy .1 lost going into 5th
I know you're not crazy about cams but cams + 3.3FD on a 26" will keep you in 4th and pulling hard, and the traction on the street will be much improved.
i run 28" tires as well (275-45-18). fits ok, but I am also running way too much street camber from my unaligned drop and to fit my +5 offset street wheels
my advice, check the tread width. That 9.5" tread width is very narrow. If I was you (with alot more HP than me) I would get the 28 X 13.50R15. Next time I wont be gettin under a 10" tread width

Maybe if it was 15" drag radials you'd need tires that wide.
Get good sticky slicks that have tread width of < 11.5" and that should be more than plenty for even the higher powered cars. More tire width means more drag; more isn't always better.

I'm running only -.5 degree camber on the rear. So my tires sit pretty straight when it's not squatting. I don't have my fenders folded completely over, but they are rolled a good bit.
I'm trying to dip into the 10s with the stock top end the basic APS kit. After I hopefully get there, then I'll think about some cams.

Wow. 13.5 wide is HUGE. I don't think I need that much tire. I don't have any traction problems with my 10.5in MT et street. I just want more gear.
Also, OP you are confusing section width from tread width.
a 13 inch section width is only a ~10" wide tread width. you dont drive on your sidewall (section width), so that number just tells you how much the tire pillows and measures at that widest point.
Those 13.5" tires only have a tread of 11"
I'm just saying, that 275 is only a 9.5" tread (contact) patch. Like said above, a 9.5" tread slick is fine, i'd just never get a 9.5" tread DR again. Esp when you have 15" wheels and have every combo available.

I'm not confusing anything. I don't think I'd be able to get a 13.5in wide tire on there without rubbing to all hell and back. Like I said before, my traction is not an issue. It wasn't even much of an issue with my 18in BFG DRs. and it will be less of an issue with those big fat MT DRs.
