2bad240 custom drag suspension
well the last few times out with the car it seems the suspension has been holding me back and its bouncing bad and unloading the tires.
the old setup was stance coilovers on the front and kyb gr2 shocks and ksport lowering springs on the rear.
so after emailing several companys and not getting replys i decided to go about building a custom setup.
i ordered qa1 7" 450LB drag springs and make some custom spacers to run them on the stance coilovers on the front.
for the rear i ordered competition engineering 3 way adjustable drag shocks(currently set on 50/50) and 11"x5" 200lb drag springs to mount in stock location. the shocks didnt mount up like ours do so i chopped the mounts off my kybs and had them welded on.
i know some people will disagree or might not like the way i did it but the drag shocks are cheap and if the dont work its no big deal. i have about $250 tied up in all four springs and the shocks shipped.
anyways here are some pics of what i have so far the springs for the rear are on backorder and should be here tuesday. so if the weather if nice i hope to run next friday.
heres the donors after i punctured them and chopped off the bottom mounts
heres the mounts tacked on
in place
the spacers for the front coils
the front coilovers
heres a pic from yesterday this was after i put the new coils on and before i had the spacers. this was turned all the way up in the front and i didnt have the rubber upper mounts in the rear.
it now sits a little bit higher front and rear.

It rides a lot better actually. The front is a lot softer. The only issue I have right now is the tires rub my inner fenders when I bounce. But I plan on adjusting it up some. I just dont wanna mess with it now and then have to do it again when my rear springs come in. I'm really interested in taking it to the track and seeing how it acts.

Thats an awesome set up man, I have a question for you in regards to my rear suspension set up for when I drag race. Im on coilovers but when I go race I have less than desireable camber in the back especially when launching. I was thinking right before I head out to the strip while im swapping street tires for my slicks would it benefit me much to just install the stock struts and springs since it litterally takes me like 5 minutes per wheel to do so, or even just the stock springs and keep the struts from the coil overs. I think it would be better to do that than mess with raising up the rear by adjusting the coilovers and messing with my alignment only to have to go get it aligned again.
Then maybe even disconnecting the front sway bar end links to allow more rear weight transfer.

yes i just said 100% pump gas because i usually run race gas.
i was in jville. i may go back this friday. i have my raincheck from last week. i know im going. just dont know if running.
yea i would just swap in the stock shocks and springs its pretty easy to do. and i have removed both of my sway bars but i dont really do anything with my car besides drag race.
