Default New PB: 13.38@103.6mph

I'm lightly modded now with a JWT pop-charger and Helix test pipes. I borrowed a set of DRs (295/35-18 BFGs) from Charles (Phunk) and headed to the track today.

Conditions were about 58 degrees and sunny so traction was not fun considering I couldn't do a burnout due to not being about to figure out the whole ABS fuse deal.....gay.

Anyway my car weighed in @ 40lbs more than when I last ran the stock time in my sig because I had a half tank of gas today and a heavier wheel/tire combo.

Ran a bunch of 13.5-13.6s in the left lane with some pretty sorry 2.0 60' times. The DRs would either hook and bog or spin depending on the launch rpm and how quickly the clutch was let out.

The one run I got in the right lane netted a 1.90 60' on a COLD DR with 25psi of tire pressure and ran the following:

R/T: .104
60': 1.905
330': 5.545
1/8: 8.573
mph: 81.56
1000': 11.19
1/4: 13.385
mph: 103.60

I'm pretty happy that I at least ran a PB E.T. and trap but I was hoping for a little more. Maybe next time. Run is on video and I'll have the vid up in a few days...stomped a stage II WRX on my PB run.

Great time!

I think I am going to start with a few light mods now.

DR's would be nice, as traction is a big problem with the stock rubber.

They are very nice...and the best thing about them is they feel like normal stree tires but they are MUCH more consistant traction wise. Even when you get them spinning theres no ugly wheel hop or crazy sideways action.

Way to go Brian!! Was that your best trap too?

Hey was that WRX a silver Impreza (non-STI) with aftermarket bronze rims and exhaust? (Yea I know that describes almost all of them. LOL!) My buddy said he was heading out there with his wrex after putting a bigger turbo, injectors and a reflash. Wondering what he got. He's claiming he's going to kick my azz.

Next weekend is the last weekend out there and I really want to take my car out there with the 3.9 and Tilton to see what she can do. Unfortunately, my Toyos are almost bald. Car comes back tonight though.

Good job Brian...what RPM were you launching at? A friend of mine let me run his 350Z for a couple of runs, he could not do better than a 14.4 @ 99 and I was able to pull off a 13.8 @101 twice, when he drove my car he ran a PB in any car of 14.1 @ 106 with a laughable 60' of 2.8 something on my DR's!!
I was taking off at 3500 with a chirp and getting 2.0's for 60's

yes it was my best trap...the WRX was a stock "looking" (besides exhaust) blue one.

Contrary to popular belief....balder tires will actually hook BETTER than ones with more tread. If the weather is nice..shoot out there...cool temps are amazing for trap speed as you well know.

The best lauching technique I found with the cold DRs was a 5000 quick slip. It is pretty amazing what some decent driving will do with a car vs. very poor driving. My buddy was there with his C5 vette 6-speed with just exhaust and his best of the day was 13.62@106mph...pretty sad...he launched from idle all day and shifted REALLY slow. He was all scared about breaking his car I tried to get him to let me have a crack at it..but he refused.

That's what I do with my car and I have pulled a 12.6 (need to update sig) @ 110...I have a lid, CB exhaust, ST shifter, re-inforced rear (10 bolt ) and DR's. Launching at 5500 with a quick slip and power shifting has netted me those times. My buddy did not want me to power shift his car of course I did
