It removes the "clicking" action. Instead pressing the button to unlock the e-brake, you "push" the button away from the handle (that's why the new button has the mushroom shape. This way, when you lift the e-brake handle, it doesn't lock.

i did this a long time ago a little different than you did but still same deal and i love it, the best part is that people swear its not possible to do (to a z33) lol
