How many miles are you drifting with on your semi stock motor ?
Just as the title says I'm curious how hard you guys are pushing your cars and how long you've been doing it ?
I'm at 100k on my 03 Z with just intake exhaust and started to get pretty good at sliding and was wondering if it's a bad idea to push my car hard at 100k.

At 100k if the engine has been maintained it should be fine, were all of its major milestone maintenances done properly?
At 100k you really need to start looking at aging suspension components such as rubber bushings and balljoints; they're usually the first to go, especially if you're drifting/tracking your Z
What is your suspension setup like right now?

Not a drifter, my car gets plenty of track use on the grip side of things. Both arts put a lot of stress on the motor. Mine went 157k before it gave up, been seeing track use since 37k. Results will vary , I know people who have blown low milage motors.

Well as of now stock suspension , checked all bushings and checked out pretty well . Looking into coils preferably PBM and a few other supporting suspension mods to keep things in check (sway bars, camber arms ect)since a buddy has them who's pretty involved in drifting as is pretty damn good . I just been getting the hang of clutch kicking and controlling the throttle but mostly in 2nd trying my hardest not to bounce of the rev limiter , but that's hard sometimes when I try to hold the slide for Long . Anyways I do change my oil every 2500 miles and just recently did a compression test which was roughly 170-175 , pretty good for 100k. I guess my next move is just a full fluid change all around and some cooling mods(oil cooler, trans cooler ,ps cooler) as I'm not really looking for more power right now . Is there any thing else you guys suggest I do to prolong life as long as possible ? Thanks for the replys

I'm sitting right at 151k but it no longer sees public roads. I've beat the hell out of it for the past 5 years and it refuses to give up, the only thing that i am going to need to replace is my transmission is starting to go, I am really hoping to make it one more season on it though. these are fairly stout motors stock most of the people around my area don't have any issues with them til they go FI and don't have the built block to support it.

I like it. is that what I think that is under the hood, I am just about to add some good ole NOS to my girl, give that stock motor a run for its money this season. if you haven't heard of it already, you should check out Turismodrift.com I know it is a good bit away from NY but it could totally be worth it. I believe it will be the highest paying series on the east coast that's not Pro, if they haven't already sold out all the driver slots. Its on some decent tracks too.
