What gear, should a 6sp be dynoed in ?? And why. Thanks

OUR 6 speed should be dyno'd in 5th gear, as that is a 1:1 gear ratio. Can't speak for other 6 speeds.

but some places dont want to dyno in 5th since at redline your tires are rolling at like 140mph... the difference between gears is quite minimal. as long as you always dyno in the same gear, its ok.

as everyone else said, the "proper" gear would be 5th. that is where you would get the most accurate numbers. but then again around here the dynos suck and read either to low or to high.

one thing I've come to realize about the dyno is just to be worried about consistency! as long as you keep your runs the same each and every time you make a mod you will have as close to accurate gains or losses to show! the end numbers might not be as high or low as your looking for but showing the differences will always be there and that is key!! if you run the 1st time in 4th for baselines stay with that EVERY time after! and same with 5th! if you keep changing up your numbers wont be as true as they should! $0.02
