24mm+5mm=29mm is my guess.

The quantity of data is pretty weak. Guys please update, it's for the first page. For all with newly installed V2's, please post up your stats.

Did you go from 15 mm to 29 mm in 100 miles?

G35
Been lurking here after I ran low enough on oil that the engine
was making a terrible noise. Found this thread and took
the G35 in for the oil consumption test. It showed
I was burning quite a bit. In each of the three 1000 miles tests
I burned .5, 1.0, and 1.5 quarts. I do about 30,000
miles a year so I basically need to add a quart every 10
days or so now. Infiniti just called and said to bring the
car in for a new engine. I guess I'll ask to see the
part number. But I should thank all
the others that had a much more difficult time
getting this problem fixed for making it easier
for the rest of us. Thanks. I'll let you know how it goes.

Well my engine install date is set. January 14th. Personally i wanted it in the summer, but they wouldn't budge. Now i have to take it out of storage in the middle of winter. Get the engine installed, then put it straight back in without being able to test drive.

Well, add me to the list going in next week for the OC test, which i thought I was on already but because one of tech's apparently didn't know his job I'll be starting over again next Thurs. To my ignorance, you must use 5w-30 oil when running the OC test per Nissan instructions but It's cool because the shop foreman told me that it would be free of charge so that fine with me just as long as they man up when it's still showing consumption.......
Oh and "Z12350Z" I'm not an expert by any means but If you're not under warranty any longer there's nothing nissan will do for you, free of charge that is....

His 2nd and 3rd consumption test results qualified him for replacement under Infiniti's still current 1qt/1000mi or worse replacement standard.
A NorCal member on Driver just picked up his G with VQ replacement. The part number still reflects the V2. So...still no V3 released yet, if ever.

Ooops, sorry I missed the G in his post. Thanks for the correction.
Good for him, hopefully he will not need a another replacement. Sounds like Infinity is getting in an ample supply of replacement engines.
Hopefully the TSB for the G family will not be too much longer.

I own a 06 base model with a m/t. I've only put about 1200 miles on it since I bought it used with 10k on it. I'm trying to keep up with this in case I have the problem. How common is it? Do most of the 06 m/t have the problem? And with so much oil being burnt, is anyone noticing smoke from the exhaust? I'd think it would be pretty noticeable burning 1+ quarts per 1k miles.

G35
Getting a new engine at Infiniti for my G35 seemed only
slightly more difficult than an oil change. It took them a
day and a half. I confirmed the V2 part number on my
service receipt. So now we'll see how it goes.
BTW, are you guys following any break in procedures with
the new engines? They told me nothing about it. Also, what
about the warranty for the engine?
