I use CRC MAF Sensor cleaner. Just remove the 2 torx bolts holding the MAF in place and unplug the unit. In bursts, spray the internal parts of the MAF, and let excess drip off. I let the MAF sit for about 5-10 minutes for it to dry off. I do this every time I cleaner my air filter (10K mi).

Ok, I tried the CRC MAF Cleaner stuff. Suffice to say, it did not work.
It may be worth mentioning, this problem has gotten progressively worse as time has gone on.
Guys, seriously, I am my absolute wits end with this problem. If anyone has any ideas, THROW THEM OUT THERE.

It sounds like the position sensor on the gas pedal is going bad. This sensor tells the computer where your foot is on the gas pedal and tells the throttle how far to open.I am on my 3rd TB and what you are describing is not a TB issue.

^Then you guys are both right! I pulled the codes today, and thats what it indicates. The question is now how do I rectify this, as I haven't been able to come up with any conclusive answers.

I would think so as i have been thru 3 throttle bodies but havent had the pedal sensor go bad yet.......knock on wood.A freind of mine had his pedal sensor go bad as we tried using one of my spare good t/b's on his car and it was the pedal sensor.Try and get one from a junk yard to keep the cost down.

I took the car out for a little today and had zero issues (also knocking on wood).

glad I found this thread... exactly the same situation on my 04 enthusiast 5at... the throttle response gets perfect for a few minutes and goes back to that sluggish response/performance... all on an irregular random basis, which indicates absolutely no clue on when and how it will happen... after reading many many threads about throttle responses and some educated guess I'm also guessing its the accelerator pedal position sensor... just wondering did you pull up the codes without having the check engine lights on?
