Silicone hose install help!!
Hey guys, I recently received a new radiator silicone hose kit (3pc) but it did not come with instructions.. to be honest I'm not too familiar with coolant hoses so any links or tips would be appreciated!

If you're gonna install that whole 3pc kit and not just the upper, at best you're gonna lose a good bit of coolant in the process. As Cubs said, make sure you top it back off before you drive the car, and for the sake of doing things right, bleed out any trapped air while refilling it. Just take off the rad cap and let the car idle to operating temp, wait for the fans to kick on and off a few times and you should see whatever air is trapped bubble up through the top of the rad. Top off fluid and good to go. You probably already know all this, but someone else reading this may not.

If I were you, I'd drain out the radiator first. Put all the coolant in a pan. Yank off the hoses, clean up the surfaces a bit and sand if necessary, install new ones and refill the radiator with the old coolant if it still looks good.
REMEMBER to burp the system with a giant funnel and also carry a screwdriver around with you so you can crack the bleeder every once and awhile.

I wonder though. What's the point of these silicone hoses other than bling?
Sure oem rubber hoses crack and die with age but that takes a LONG time for that to happen.
Pointless mod if you ask me.

Maybe some sort of snake skin slip on cover with some black fake AN type clamp covers next time.

thanks again, and yes i got these strictly for some engine dress up to go along with the grounding kit i added.. i am using the moshimoto kit, only complaint is that the resivoir return line was wayyyy to long so i had to cut it and also the clamp is now too tiny to fit all the way around the new hose as its a little thicker. . but all in all its a great dress up item.. especially because i got it for free lol
