I'm pretty sure you can't buy a V160 anymore... it'll likely be a V161 so I'd like to see you put the P/N and the fact it's in stock somewhere. Hell when I worked for Toyota a W58(N/A Supra and SC300) was 3200.00 at my cost which was 10%+cost.

MVP Motorsports still sells the V160 new for about $6K.
The GE and GTE internals are a little different. The GE runs higher compression hence the different piston part numbers. To go NA-T, you'd have to run a thicker headgasket or run different pistons to lower the compression. Intake manifolds are on the same side (driver's side) on both GE and GTE. The GE just has that retarded y-pipe that goes across the engine to the passenger side. The R154 is the same between the Soarer and the MK3 Supra. Only difference is that the R154 from the Soarer has the OEM shifter extension that the MK3 R154 doesn't have. If you can find a Soarer R154 for less than $1K though, nab it. And like mentioned above, the VVTi (Variable Valve Timing intelligence) has a different cam for the intake side along with a few other small things. From what I understand as well, the VVTi has a smoother power band like mentioned above.
Hope that clears some things up.
Let us know how this build goes! The VVTi would be my choice as well once I go through with doing the 2JZ swap in my G.

Came across this product to mate a 2JZ/1JZ with a 6 speed transmission from a 350z/370z. Anyone else heard of this?
