VQ35DE non-rev up into a VQ35DE rev up car?
Hi, I've been doing some research but have not been able to find a definitive answer. Hopefully those of you out there with a bit more knowledge of the matter can help me out.
I see mainly threads about swapping VQ35DE-revups into VQ35DE-non revup cars. But nothing really documenting going the other way around. Apparently some have done it, but after searching this forum I couldn't find more detail about the matter.
Here's the skinny. I have built up a VQ35DE short block with forged internals for FI. My car is an 06' rev up. I want to build a complete engine outside of the car to minimize downtime and enjoy my car on the road until the swap + turbo kit + haltech ems + fuel system goes down. Since i'm going FI anyways i'm not really concerned by the stock vs. stock performance of rev-up vs non-revup.
I know there are differences in the heads, mainly for additional sensors. Different cams, timing chain cover. Cam gears? maybe, not sure.
I see lots of VQ35DE non-revups for sale in my area for great prices. Mostly blown bottom ends, spun bearings that I can get for dirt cheap. Will building my FI ready bottom end on the non-revup platform cause any unforseen issues? I think i'll be left with a couple of left over sensors (exhaust cam sensors) that normally go from a rev-up motor to the rev-up ECU. Will not using these sensors cause any unforeseen issues on a rev-up ECU?
Thanks in advance.

You will have to convert to a non rev ECU, or PM me and we can swap some parts around, i have most of the rev-up parts you need, i would want the normal DE parts from you.

Revup
I'm actually interested in buying a rev up for my own build, would you be interested in selling it one you pull the engine out of your car, and if you are switching CPUs I'll buy whatever you no longer need, ie wiring harness if you decide to get a wiring harness out of a no rev up engine

I would like to resurrect this thread. I have a source on a HR motor I would like to swap in my 04 DE. Can I use he same transmission? When you do the ECU swap is it a plug and play or are there special wiring requirements? I know I will need the wiring harness and ECU but am hoping I can use my same gauges ect.

This thread was made for the VQ35DE Rev Up which is a different animal from the VQ35HR. This thread is so long dead lol...
I know people have done HR swap but it was a full swap. Oh yeah if anyone is wondering I managed to source all the parts and put together my Rev Up long lock eventually. The project has stalled (moving, job changes, marriage etc)but I intend to finish it this year, still hanging in there and not giving up! Just need bolt ons like the FI kit and Return fuel system. I Have uprev tuner but will go haltech for its knock control (insurance to protect the investment).
Back to the question:
I believe the bell housing of your DE tranny (CD009 hopefully) won't bolt up to your HR motor and the wiring harness is different so it'll be a complete swap. Not 100% sure about the gauges but it should be fine.
