Sourcing a new engine
I've been looking at LKQ as the place to get a new engine for my 2003 MT. Going through their inventory, there are different engine dates (e.g. thru 09/2003, thru 10/2004, from 11/2004), but does anyone know if it matters as long as it's before 10/2004 since I assume from 11/2004 is the uprev DE engine?
Also, can a previously AT engine be used in my MT?

Ask if they have compression test results and walk if they don't. Even though they will say that they have a warranty on parts, they will not reimburse for labor. So let's say you buy a motor with no comp test for 1500, have someone with heavy lifiting equipment swap it for 1000, and upon install find it has a busted cylinder; you'll end up getting your 1500 back on the motor, but you're out the 1000 on labor to your mechanic.
