Its my personal printer which is a build it yourself kit. The kit itself is made by makerfarm and if your a tinkerer then its an awesome piece of kit. Its already saved me what it cost since I can test fit my creations that I make in CAD before sending them off to the machine shop.

Ahh i see...yea i see ls2 motors and trans for around $6500. Am guessing 9000$ would be enough for parts nd engine?

A best case scenario is buying an LS2 motor/trans/ wireharness pullout from a GTO. Both the fueled and sikky kits are based off of the LS2 from a GTO you know its all going to fit. If I didn't need CARB cert then I would buy a visually banged up GTO and then pull everything out I needed and then strip the chassis and sell off parts from the GTO until theres nothing left. I think the general consensus is 10k for a base ls1 swap, without paying for labor.

First off, Mods can you please move this to the new swap forum please?

I've been out of town for the last month but when I got home, there were surprises waiting!

The oil temps have not been a problem on the tame tune I have but as I go for more power I can see that being an issue. The earls cooler is only 13 rows but is very wide and will let me maximize my front grill.

In line with cooling is a power steering cooler. I have noticed some high temps from the KRC pump so its just a precaution. Also in preperation for what is to come is some suspension arms. Kinetix for the front and SPC for the rear.

Since the car is going to see some pretty hefty track time the OEM Nismo suspension had to go. Bring in the KW Clubsports!

Just to wrap it all up, A Nismo GT 1.5 way LSD to get the power to the ground. Hopefully this will make for a busy weekend!

I'm hoping it does honestly. last year the car had a lot of... well I'll call it flex. It rolled too much in the corners, The back end was twitchy because of camber and toe changes under load. I'm expecting to come out swinging hard. All the bushings have been replaced. All the suspension is being redone. I'll finally get the camber I want. Once I get her sorted out in the curves it will be time for more power!

Awesome, I'll look into that. Although I am worried about removing more weight from the back end of the car.

So I put some wrench time on the car today, which is always great. I decided to redo the exhaust system. The one I ran last year was a chinese ebay kit that was heavy as hell and I'm not entirely sure was even better for power over a stock exhaust. So I put together a lightweight single exhaust.

Admittedly, I'll miss the dual exhaust look but I can always feel better about the 30+lbs I just got rid of off the car.

The rest of the time today was spent making the mounts for the oil cooler setup.

Its a slim cooler so it will fit nicely with the future ducting.

I nailed down the suspension today. The kinetix control arms will not give me the negative camber I wanted so I needed to modify them a bit. Here is the stock vs modified kinetix arms.

Shaving down the threaded portion should get me to just over 3 degrees of camber where I wanted to be.

After that was down to installing the KW suspension. It was pretty straight forward with the exception of the rear coilover bounce setting. The clicks for each setting are damned near nonexistent. I had to go off of feel just to make sure I got them setup right.

on another note, My OCD almost kicked in and I really wanted to make everything color matching... FML.

Looks good! Nice job on the exhaust!

What's up with the zip tie?

Oh, and I moved your thread to the engine swap section. It's a new section.

I broke a cable clamp on the front and since I'm rerouting the cabling anyways, I have not permanantly fixed it.

Thanks!

I had a crap ton of work this week, so I was very limited on how much I could allocate to the car. I did however get around to the wideband gauge. I'm running on a fairly basic LS3 intake and exhaust tune so which just won't do. I had to grab a wideband so I can do my own custom tune, but It's not something I need nor want to constantly have in my face on the track. Luckily the Z has the useless *** cubby which was relegated to holding my track pass cards and some chewing gum.

5 minutes with some CAD software and now I have a mounting plate to go in the cubby. Its off center since I plan to eventually add in some auxiliary switches and possible the battery cutoff.

That is what it looks like in the cubby, I'll spray it with some satin black tomorrow to make it not look so odd. Looking at that picture makes me realize just how scratched up my center console is. Any ideas on improving that? I'm kinda lost on interior work that's not functional.

A short post today. So I have done a lot on the car and after its all said... She lives AGAIN!

With the new suspension, she is a whole new beast. The car is a little too low at the moment, I can feel the twitchyness of a roll center that is too low. but the car has minimal roll. I've got to play with the alignment but I will wait for the springs to settle first. So that means I need to drive it 500 miles or so! If I can get all of that sorted I hoope to make a afterwork track day on Thursday but we will see.

Don't go to the track if the car feels twitchy, too much sway bar?
