350Z Automatic Gearbox Ballast Resister
I wonder if anybody can help with a problem I have with my fairlady Z?
Its a 2005 model with automatic transmission.
The positive battery terminal (the part with the block of built in fuses) does not fit the battery correctly (the battery terminal is too large) so it was fitted with a battery terminal designed to take a cable and has two screws to secure the cable.
rather than a cable, a bolt was used from the wiring harness terminal block which went into where the wire should go.
Anyway it was a really poor connection which I meant to sort out, but the other week it became loose again, ad made all the lights on the dashboard flicker on and off 2,3 times a second and would not start.
secure the barttery terminal again and the car started ok.
But with the AT Check light on.
Its now in get me home mode, 4th gear I think. and after some testing fuses etc and putting it on diag, I think the problem is down to whats called a ballast resistor on the auto box.
My questions are:-
Are these easy to get hold of?
Are they easy to fit, and where to look?
Would anybody disagree with the diagnosis I have so far?
Thank you
