Crack on Drive Shaft Shop cv is normal!?!
Someone here has already inspected his CV from Drive Shaft Shop?
Mine had small cracks, I contacted DSS to order new pair, they sent me new with cracks on the inner race.. i took pictures with the work inspection department but DSS say that's normal ... you have already seen it on your cv?
My fear..If one of them breaks when I go to drag race, i'll hit the wall with full force with my lsd, nearly 600hp/600lbs and sticky tires...
This is liquid penetrant test...

Very observant. I do not know the answer to your question. I do believe that if it is going to fail, it will fail in 1st gear, so hopefully you won't even leave the line let alone hit the wall. I got the pro axles (full replacement) and never knew to look for those fine cracks. Thanks for posting pics.

There is no reason they should be sending you parts with cracks like that. Can't believe they say that is normal!!! I would request crack free parts from them or a written guarantee from that if it fails and brakes any ajoining parts that they will cover replacement. At that point i am sure they will send you some better quality. DDS parts have been known for quality but this shows they are slipping a bit.

This is the seconde time i received cracked inner race..
(total of 3 inner race with cracks, 2-3 cracks per inner race..)
I always received used/machined inner race, I'll ask them to send me two NEW/machined inner race..
After that i think i'll ask for full refund. I still pay for customs and UPS fews every times..cost me over 100$ for that. doh!
I'm very desapointed.. my first idea of DSS is a good quality but now ..i dont think so
There is an alternative to drive shaft shop? I want good quality and service.
This is DSS replies;
''Also, the races you received they're not cracked that is just the machining process from when there made.
If you would like to swap it out just let me know.''

The only way that is not a crack is if it is the relief cut for the spline, doesn't mean i like it but could be what they are talking about. Have they guaranteed that it will have no problems. Ask them to guarrantee it in writing and enjoy.
As far as other options, there used to be several but don't see many custom DS shops anymore. I wish you luck.
