HR Clutch Bleed
Hello all,
I'm having a tough time bleeding the Clutch on my HR. A little bit of background info:
I have a 2008 base with a stage 2 Southbend clutch/flywheel + Zspeed HD CSC & Wilwood Master. My trans is a CD5.
I was doing a bit of spring maintenance and am changing all the fluids before I start her up again. I noticed that my clutch fluid reservoir was empty. Not sure how it got that way, and I definitely should have noticed earlier.
This is my first time bleeding a clutch so I was hoping I could get a little clarification on some things.
The bleed valve: This valve is connected to the slave? I see that it has a large nut and a smaller nut right beneath that. Which do I turn to open the bleeder valve? I can turn the large one but an not getting any indication that it is opening/no fluid coming out when I have another person depressing the clutch pedal.
The Reservoir was empty, because of this can I not use the standard method of getting air out of the lines? I read in the FSM not to use a powerbleeder, however it also states not to let the reservoir empty. Is the only way to get fluid into the system via a powerbleeder/something similar? If so does the Motive bleeder fit the resivoir or would i be better off fabricating one with the DIY?
I can only get my girlfriend to sit in the car and pump the clutch for so long haha. Any help would be appreciated! If i missed some threads where this was already answered mods can please close this.
PS thanks all, wouldn't have been able to work on my car at all without this site. Some really helpful posts on here.
Thanks,
Mike

fill the reservoir, pump (and you will have to pull up the pedal at first) 10 ish times, the push and hold. crack open the nipple (in red, also get a clear tube to attach to it and route that into a bottle) nothing will come out at first but keep doing it til you get solid fluid with no air bubbles.
dont let the reservoir run dry and suck air in the system
