So you are saying you have never ever taken your car near redline at any point of owning it PERIOD? You have never taken it to the race track? you have never got on it at any point? I find that very, very hard to believe you have NEVER done this at any point.
Granted... I never hit redline. But you are saying you have NEVER gotten NEAR redline..... come on... with all of those mods on that z06... HAHAHA

Uhm isnt that what youre supposed to do when you shift ?? Wth.. That's how ive been driving my car ever since i learned how to drive a manual via Youtube. You let off gas, step on the clutch , shift gear, give it gas . Who the hell keep giving it gas AND shifting at the same time ???
And mind you this is my 3rd manual car

When you're shifting gears, you're asking a good amount of rotating mass to change its speed, almost instantaneously, and that's the problem. Inertia. The synchro rings will help to some extent. First to second is the toughest, because of the size of those gear sets, but so is neutral to first. Anyone able to push in the clutch and immediately slam the stick into first gear? Of course not, and that's why you need to pause first to second, too, and so on with the other gears.
I don't track my Z, but have done a lot of track time in the past with my Alfa's. Same problem with those gearboxes, which are somewhat overbuilt, and that little 2-liter motor can rev pretty quickly. The trick with the Alfa gearboxes is to undercut and cross-drill the gear sets, reducing the rotating mass of the system. Shifts are lightning-quick, but it's a lot of work cutting gears, which are hardened to prevent wear. Here's a pic of what I'm describing:

Not for everyday driving, and not for a stock clutch though.

Have you tried double de-clutching to see if that lets you into 2nd at very high RPM?
You will find some oils syncro match better when cold and some are better when hot - I haven't found an oil that works well hot and cold
Given the previous owner had a leaking clutch it is possible that the syncro on 2nd took a little abuse
