This project may go crazy big. Found a rebuilt short block for cheap among other things.

I will be using the 3.5 with the R154 and might go 3.3 if I swap the 6MT.

We will see.

Yes, I have the right bell housing for the r154-2jz.

I got the ECU to test start the engine.

Will pick up the OS Giken triple today.

I picked up the head with the HKS 280 cams, OS Giken triple clutch and AEM cam gears.

the clutch is missing the pull to push alteration kit. I might convert it just like the W58 tranny or buy the OS Giken kit for around $500.

What would you convert to a W58?

Check out Travis' 2J build... you might find some good info here:

Update:

Due to a financial problem I had to sell all of the above and I was thinking about getting a stock VQ35HR, but now I bought another stock 2JZ-gte and later today will order the 2JZGTE engine to 350Z 6-speed tranmission adaptor kit which includes:

The 2JZ/1JZ Engine to 350Z/370Z Transmission adapter plate,
Light weight Aluminum Flywheel MADE TO FIT THIS SWAP
Six Puck sprung hub clutch disc FOR THIS SWAP
Stage Three pressure plate MADE TO FIT THIS SWAP
Pilot bearing adapter
The bolts to fasten the adapter plate to the engine

click me

Nice nice. Good luck with that. I was in contact with one of those guys awhile ago. Looks like the same guy, not 100% sure. Any plans for modding? I thought the stock twins won't fit? I could be wrong.

They fit but you have to do some (forged performance massaging) to the firewall.

Try to get a cast single manifold and Precision 6266. No more than $1100 new and you'll be moving....

Yes they did in MyIS IIRC. I'm not using that kit any more (they stopped returning my emails) I'm going with a V160 flywheel and 350z clutch kit (its the same size clutch plate)
and making my own plate.

I already have an exhaust manifold and will go 6266 or even 6766.

I'm still looking for a way to make the stock tachometer works.

Hmmm I'm highly interested in doing the 2jz swap and would rather keep the 6spd. It says he has a quantity of 5 kits on eBay. I've come upon a 350z for dirt cheap and don't want to deal with the hassle of blowing the stock or built vq so would just rather go with a 2jz for reliable 450whp.

What mounts can be used. Lol I know I sound like a 16 year old with pipe dreams but when I get back stateside you will see a build thread.

I just got the engine to the shop and I need to get all the parts to start test fitting the engine. Will keep this thread updated once we start.

XAT racing did an adaptor to get the stock tachometer to work 2-3 years ago with a Haltech.

I found a Greddy T88H 38GK turbo that I'm consedering and 1000cc Sard injectors, Sard regulayor and HKS fuel rail. All that for ~$1900.

Also contacted Abbey motorsport in UK about the Syvecs S6 and they said I can use it to run the 2jz and make the stock tachometer work and have a traction control via the 350z CAN BUS.

Bump.
So what exactly are you planning on doing for the motor mounts?

That'd be cool. I'm considering gathering up a few 2j parts for a swap in case of a popped vq.

We need to get all the parts to bolt the transmission to the engine and get the turbo and exhaust manifold before we start working on the mounts.

Graffkid, thank you but I'm using the 350z transmission, so I think it won't be the same.

I'm just waiting foe some cash to get all the needed parts.

Also, someone local did couple of 2jzgte swaps in the 350z and he said he can get the stock tachometer to work and it cost less than $50!! He said something about the Z tacho uses a higher voltage than the 2jz output!!
