I will be running PT6766 and AEM V2 EMS. So the S1 is too small also I will be getting the S3 in the future.

S3's are over-kill imho

S2 (hks 272s) like cams have been used on t6 turbo drag cars for 1400whp on boost, and 1500whp with spray.

27x seems to be golden on 2jz's. Besides that, with s3's you need to clearance the head and put in shim-less buckets or something. All together, if you're running a 6766, s3's would be a waste. I think s2's are perfect for most medium sized 2j cars. I know I successfully convinced my buddy to go for s2's

Yeah 272s will be good. I'm currently running Titan 272 with a lot of head work and talking to Reid at SP and Titan, they are an "aggressive" cam for the street, but will do what I need them to do.

I checked the R154 gears ratio with our FD 3.53 and 3.35 in a speed/gear calculator and I got this:

I think its kinda tallish

Have you considered your OEM CD009 trans? The CD009 IMHO will be the go to trans for swaps moving fwd. Seeing them used more and more for swaps by guys on other forums. From SR20det swaps to 2JZ swaps etc.. For manual tranny's I'm sure we all know the V160 reigns supreme with the CD009 IMO second then the R154 followed by the R33 trans then believe it or not the KA24de manual. Domestics not included! I will be using none of the above since my car has a W58 but nothing else needed for the swap. Also cheapest option for most as well.

I'm still thinking about installing the OEM one and selling the R154. I like the tall gears in the R154 but also like the OEM short shifter in the OEM tranny and and not worrying about it breaking at +600whp . Also my OEM tranny has a aftermarket short shifter.

^^Nice I always loved my 6SPD despite hitting 5th from time to time instead of 3rd lol

For dropping a JZ in a Z33 chassis this should make the swap a ton easier:

so my question is, will the r154 fit right into the stock location? or does it have to be modified

You need to extend the shifter, since the R154 is shorter.IIRC

Ok. I think I'm ditching my original idea of 2jzgte and r154. I think I can just get the housing adapter for 400 and Kate my cd009. But the main question is how much tq will that take. Same as the cd009. Anyone know? Also any of you running e85?

And my tuner told me to save my money. I was going to purchase a aem ems but he said the apexi safc 2 will do the job and I can have 2 diff maps. 1 for e85 and for pump

Those gears will be tall for a 2jz until it hits boost and then it will be a blast. In my LS/TH400 swap I was at about the same mph per gear at 6,200rpms but it had the low end torque to not care. In my friends 2JZ/TH400 swapped Ford Probe the gears were similarly tall compared to what you calculated and it was a dog until boost. Then it ripped as tall gears and boost are a killer experience.

im planning on doing an overhall on the engine, new oem gasket, new arp all around. should i worry about cams and stuff now. or can i get away with out doing anything to the head.

im looking for about 7-800hp. i know that driveshaft and rear axles have to be changed. czp quoted me 2k out the door for stage 5 rear axles 900hp rated and new aluminum driveshaft 1000hp rated.

now the other thing that worries me is i heard that the single turbo mani doesnt fit without cutting the body. is this true or does someone make a single mani for our cars????

Most single turbo manifolds fit just fine. Usually you only have to cut the body if you're keeping the stock twins. If you're shooting for +700hp then I would recommend GSC S1-S2 cams and valvespring upgrade.

Also you don't need to change the rear axles unless you're going to drag race the car.

really. bc the ive been speaking with the guy that did the flat black one i think his name is g352jz in g35driver. he said that they blew a few rear axles and driveshafts so they had to upgrade.

i guess i can try to get away with out doing them until they go. so no drag racing, so only rolls? how about the cd009 how much will that handle?

what manifold are you using? is anyone running megasquirt 3?
