I have a DE too...most people trim their blocks to make it similar to an HR for better coolant flow...

I actually don't know, and neither did the previous owner.
Some history on the engine; the engine was a runner when the previous owner picked it up; he was going to do a build it but decided to get a 240/RB instead...my shop opened the engine up and the block was still good and did a quick look on the heads it still looked good as well...
