Default Did anyone actually see Dream Girls?

How the hell did whatever-her-name-is Hudson win best supporting actress?...she better have been outstanding in that movie...she goes from being a complete nobody 2 years ago, to semi-stardom on american idol, to starring with eddie murphy et al in a decently big hollywood movie, to winning best supporting actress...unbelievable...talk about a quick elevator to the top

I didn't see it but my gf did. She enjoyed it but I told her I didn't want to see it because I was tired of old retro-historical musician type of movies.

Guess I got burnt out of the Temptations movie although I do enjoy watching it.

politics i guess.
They shoulda given the oscar to that japanese girl instead who took the most risks in the film "Babel". But too bad another nominated supporting actress in that film obviously splitted her votes and ruined all her chances.

I hear the movie is over-rated, dont plan to see anytime soon.
The oscars need their Cinderella story for good press and to make everyone feel good inside. I think thats really the only reason she won, not because she is any good.

I thought she was gonna have a wardrobe malfunction during the performance at the oscars. She's one big woman.

I actually SAW the flic. I thought it was a very GOOD movie. Jennifer Hudson DESERVES that Oscar. I'm just glad they didn't let Beyonce steal her glory. If you haven't seen it and you like the Motown era it warrants a viewing.

Hah that's what my mom said to me today... they just needed to balance the winners with a black female. I am not racist but you know it's true.
