So, I got a PS3 at Target a while back with 10% off coupon. I got the 60gb and mainly got it for a Blu-Ray player. Gaming is secondary to me, but I still enjoy it. What I really like is downloading all the Demo games. I have freakin ADD when it comes to games so I would get bored with any more than the Demos give you anyway.
The wireless controllers are awesome. I am really used to Sony's controller so switching to another style would be hard for my 35 year old brain. Not having wires has been funny at times because my dog runs by and I always think she is going to trip over the wire!
I really hope Sony's onine gets a lot better. That seems to be the gaming trend so Sony better get it's act together.
I would buy a PS3 simply as a Blu Ray player for now if you are an early adopter type. Otherwise I would wait.

I regret my ps3 purchase! Shoulda bought a 360 instead. Nothing good coming out for the PS3 that isn't available on the 360 IMO. I haven't bought a single game yet cause everything seems kinda weak.
BTW is it just me or do these guys that play online are just too damn good? Don't they have jobs? I played Call of Duty online and just get smoked!! I respawn and smoked again!! The GT HD online is another one, I drift on the track and got like a best score of ~8000 and see my ranking then look to see the best one is like 50000!! Or my best lap is outdone by like 5 sec on a 1:15 sec run!
Oh, and Blasing angels!! HAHA these guys need to do something other than fly virtual planes!! There are guys with 25000 kills Honestly, how do you make time in a day to take a SH!T!! Figure the system has been out for how long, then when did the game come out and last I saw rankings was like a month ago and this donkey had like 25000 kills compared to my 3. HAHA.
If you own a 360 there isnt much reason to own a ps3 yet. Unless you enjoy HD movies then a ps3 is an ok deal. Still isnt great as the video playback has issues and as far as a DVD player it isnt top notch either. I own it and im not regretting the purchase but i should have scalped it when i had the chance and waited. I really thought resistance was going to be better than it was and for some reason I thought the games werent going to be delayed like they have been.
Tekken DR is my favorite game out for the ps3 and thats freakin sad.
The one thing I do notice is this thing uses a ton of electricity. It draws 2.5 amps or 300 watts almost continuously!!!
My wife is a big DVD collector and I simply don't see any more sense in buying regular DVD's (we have over 1000 DVD's). I'm simply betting on Blu Ray at this point, but who knows.

But then my score got erased...I wonder if they reset it every week or so.
Whats production like nowadays for any of the 3 consoles? Wii, PS3, Xbox360

Sooo, if they come and go, your answer to my question was bunk. you said they are all available when in fact there is a slim chance of me going to walmart today and picking up the Wii. People are buying the PS3 for the blu ray and not the games. PS3 is a multimedia device 1st and a gaming platform 2nd. And i wonder why alot of their exclusive titles have jumped ship lol.
**on a side note, the Nintendo Wii is STILL selling out, everytime there is a shipment here** Its crazy.
I broke down and picked up a PS3 few days ago... Bought Virtual Fighter 5 and its pretty cool, I like the fact that you can't really button smash to win like most other fighting games, have to give some thought to which moves you want... My nephew who always beats me at these type of fighting games got his @ss kicked by me in this one he kept trying to win by button smashing, he was getting all pissed at the game lol
I pre-orderd Motor Storm, should get it sometime this week I believe, this game is why I bought the PS3, looks awesome, hope it doesn't disappoint...
