xbox hd-dvd player. should i get it?

I have some extra dinero and I was thinking about getting the hd player for the xbox 360. Is it worth it? What are my options as far as renting movies since I heard blockbuster only stocks blue-ray movies. And whats the deal with this battle between HD and blue ray? I dont want to get an HD player and end up having to get blue ray because HD movies are so limited.

I plan on getting a PS3 after xmas but thats not a for sure thing yet considering the games suck with the exception of tekken 5 and metal gear. Other then that its a lot of money for a blue ray player.

It's worth it man. I heard they're making movies that you can watch on both formats. Also the price came down on the HD dvd player.

im seriously thinking of getting one, $150 at best buy, 5 free hd-dvds (6 including king kong if it is still offered) and then i found out today blockbuster online has hd-dvds for rental.

also im getting a refund for the $140 i paid to get my xbox repaired, so that kinda justifies it for me.

150 bucks now? I didnt know that. I still see them on ebay for 160-200

that is my main concern that some movies will be blue ray only and that would suck

Im glad I saw that. I was going to buy it from a guy on craigslist for 150 used. Maybe I can bargain him down to 100vbucks.

that five free disc offer destroys the brd movies they offered. as far as games for the ps3, i have been busy with sigma for a few weeks now( ihear its the same as the xbox version though ) resistance is fun too.

all i have is an hdtv with a res of 1366x768. it is 26" tho, so im hoping it will be a good investment tho just to watch some movies. $150 isnt that much.
