Noy sure if this deserved its own thread but here it is. The official date is the 16th of november. IGN has some cool crysis videos now and hype is all over the web. I will be picking this up day one. Its introducing a new style of multiplayer called power struggle. Its like a mix of battlefield and counterstrike. You earn money based on performance to upgrade your weapons/armor/vehiclkes on teh fly in squad based comabt. It will ship with a 30-32 person mp limit which is kinda small but im thinking its most likely because more character models would kill any computer.
We can use this thread for vista issues and new rig issues also.

Gatti what kind of rig do you need in your opinion to enjoy the game and not have it look like complete sh1t
I'm probably not going to build a rig anytime soon since I have the PS3 and xbox for now.
But I do have this
P4 3.0
800mhz fsb
1.0gb ram, would be willing to upgrade to 2,3,4gb
geforce 7600gt / agp8x
Id think you would need to upgrade at least to a dual core (e2160 at least), 2g of ram (what type do you have? DDR or DDR2?) and PCI Express...Id guess about a $350 upgrade would step you up nicely.

assuming xp
dual core
2gb ram
8600 card bare minimum to really experience crysis
assuming vista (dx10)
quad core
8800gts bare minimum
4 gb ram unless ms fixes the file sizes
These specs would produce a game that runs like the screens BUT at very small resolutions. ATM i have my doubts if even my rig will be able to run 1600x1080 widescreen. We will see. Ive been dabling in overclokcing with linked/synced memory cpu timings. Ive also been able to boost my 8800gtx's to a 15% overclock in ram and gpu.
i will be happy to translate for you the day you see crysis and it blows anything you have ever seen right out of the water. Talking best ever physics and graphics in one game.
What else are gamers going to get for holiday, missing the xmas season with no new sku = dumb. ATI might be in that boat though Was hoping for so much more from the R600 failure..

but why cannibalize a good thing. The ultra is out and nvidia is whoopin the market bad. A wiser choice would be a wait and see approach for how the software works with existing hardware before promoting a new sku and dropping the prices on already selling hardware.
just built me a new system...
core 2 duo e6420 overclocked to 3.0ghz
2 gigs corsair xms2 at 866, fsb is at 1370 rite now...
evga 8800 gts w/320mb ddr3 - overclocked 15%
using a zalman 9600 to cool my c2
running vista since iwanted to play halo2... after i found out there's a hack to let u play it in xp...
oh well at least i have dx10 capability...

64 bit vista or 32 bit? Crytek has been quoted as saying you can expect a 5% boost per core on a 64 bit os versus 32 bit on crysis.
i did 32 bit cause i wasnt sure some of my older games would work
americas army + bf2
installed dirt last nite... jeez .. amazing graphics but such crappy gameplay
Yeah i dual boot right now. If im going to play games its vp if im going to do anything else vista 64 ultimate. Honestly vita is faste ron my system by quite a bit but there are no games out for it right now that are truly dx10. Having a game have dx10 tacked on isnt the same as being dx10 from the ground up. Unreal and crysis are teh firs true dx10 64 bit games i will play.

yea... good idea.... i made sure americasarmy worked on vista before i installed it.... what do u usually play online ?
