Anyone else watch this show? It's very interesting and quite an educational show. To see the two host really get schooled is very entertaining.
Being Filipino myself, I was very impressed (and proud) with the Arnis (Eskrima) episode. Those Doce Pares masters are/were the real deal - quick and bad-a**. Water buffalo 1 - Filipino guy 0... .
Yea this show's cool. I would love to see the experts romp on the two hosts but then it would probably end up deadly. Still they got ballz to step in the ring with the masters.

The Escrima and Thai Kickboxing episodes were decent, but the Karate one was pathetic. I've seen better highschool fights.
Good show, but they REALLY need new hosts.

It's a good show- I make sure I watch it or record it.
The Muay Thai episode is my favourite though. I really liked the karate episode as well but the style of fighting that they got into was kind of lame. It didn't look very 'artful' at all. All they did was punches to the chest and kicks to the inner leg as if it was a play ground fight. Made that form of karate look REALLY lame from the versions that we are 'used' to seeing.
Just watched the Muay Thai episode and was disappointed at the final fight. You can tell the champion really took it easy on the host. Guess he didn't want to kill him.

Yeaaaaaa. The Karate one was lame.
There are a few things I don't like about the show:
1) The hosts actually try to compete with the best.
That's fine if the hosts are super badass at multiple styles. But for all the episodes I've seen, they were absolute newbies compared to their experienced opponents. And this leads to:
2) Summarizing the featured martial art.
They have taken it upon themselves to learn the arts in a hurry so that they can use it for an upcoming fight. The problem with this is that the knowledge of the arts is so deep, that what happens every episode is they zoom to multiple locations, only to pick a couple of the more basic techniques.
3) Too much time is spent showing the hosts learning.
I want to watch the masters at work. Not these newbie hosts doing their own retarded rendition of the actual moves. Again, what's up with having the final fight? What's the point of showing a fight between a black belt and a white belt?
I felt that the show has under-represented all the arts it has featured so far.

+1 That's what I was saying...but the show has to go on. Imagine if these experts fought 100%. Those fukkers would be dead! Good show anyhow, I like how they tell you the formulas or algorithms to some of the strikes. It's very "History Channel".

Yea agreed.
+1 on the karate being pretty lame except for the masters. That part where the old guy breaks 3 boards with his fingers ONLY. Damn... imagine if he striked you in the neck or head, you would be goners.

Did you see his fingers? Each finger pointed in a different direction. They were phucked up.
