So I was bored this weekend so I bought a second guitar and decided to paint it up... since the stock body is OH, so lame. I bought this spray paint made for the terrible white lawn furniture, so I knew it would have to stick.
I sanded with 400grit first, then two coats of primer (at this point I masked out the skull). gave it a lot of time to dry, then I did two coats of the black, sanded with 800grit, then another two coats, and sanded, and then masked off the blood spatter area. then I cleared the whole thing with 2 coats. I painted the buttons all black as well, and masked them off so they wouldn't stick.
I used blue painters tape for all the masking and a razor to cut out the design. I drew the skull and blood spatter then traced it onto the tape.
note for DIYers: You have to completely take the guitar apart and it's a mess. to put it back together I used as many screws as I could to narrow down the pile so for the more delicate and important 'guts' I would have the right screws for.
Bad Ass I thought about doing that, but never got around to it, maybe with GH3 comes out I'll do it.
The stickers it comes with are lame, this is about the best thing I could think of. Not nearly as cool as yours, but a exploding teddy bear make feel more hardcore
