Well after owning a Wii for a few months I decided to get rid of it before it's worth nothing. I couldn't get into the Wiimote and felt it was nothing more than a Gamecube with a different controller same graphics, nothing new. I also felt that it will soon go the way of the Gamecube, and believe me I'm a Nintendo fan but the games and system aren't doing it for me any more.
So bye, bye Wii, i'll keep my 360 (hopefully I won't need a new one after I get it back. 3rd one, but damn at this point it owns all) and i'll also be keeping my Ps3 (it has a brighter future in my openion than the Wii) hopefully I don't have to kick myself in the a--.
Anyone else feel the same or have done the same? What really spelled it out for me is that my kids don't even play the Damn thing. not bashing on Nintendo but I feel the system will have been better for me if the graphics were like that of the 360 and Ps3 and not the same as the cube.
The graphics dont really concern me, but the games are very gimmicky. I get bored of it quick, and all the games are basically the same, shake your hands and something will happen.
I too am a big nintendo fan, but since the N64 I realized they are never going to appeal to real gamers, and people can say all they want but I say nintendo is not being innovative. All nintendo is doing is making cheap, lazy games, nearly all the same and then putting a nice gimmick to them to attract the cascual gamer.
Motion senstive controller are not new, and no ever gave a damn about them, but somehow nintendo pull a nice marketing trick and got everyone excited.
The wii has large number but its supply of great games wont last, it be just like the N64 where everything was first party, no one wanted to make games for them. With MS trying to go for the small kids on the 360 with their recent deal with disney, there no need for the Wii.

I couldn't say it any better, well put.
Its sad because I feel that i'm abandoning something from my past because as I stated I'm a Nintendo fan but the games don't appeal to me anymore the last Metroid was a waist of time the first Metroid Prime was the s---, dut I haven't even got excited about the new one also Mario after sunshine I don't see Mario in the same light as I did before, I mean the New super mario was a much better game that I enjoyed. Hate to say it but Game Over Nintendo. stick with the Ds though .
This topic has been debated in many threads. People agree that the Wii is a better party console while the 360 and ps3 are better single player consoles. With that said, I feel the Wii falls short where both Xbox and PS3 excel, HD! If the Wii had HD I think it would be even further ahead on the sales race. The numbers don't lie, the Xbox and PS3 are second to the Wii in sales, and to be honest, that is all that matters when it comes to Nintendo. Their strategy was to make their console look like a fuggin' blast to play and I think they succeeded. With the many consoles out now, there is no one better console than the other. Each console has its strong and weak points, and what it ends up boiling down to is what console you feel most fits you. If you didn't enjoy the Wii over time, then it was only right that you sell it. Put that baby on Ebay soon, at least you won't be losing any money on it.

I think that the Wii falls short on cross platform games for the most part (maybe with the exception of Resident Evil 4-it's pretty sweet for the Wii). However, the original games that are specifically meant to take advantage of the unique controller setup are fun as hell to play. They also never seem to get old to me. Wii sports is awesome, Zelda is awesome, Trauma Center is awesome. There are a lot of great games that take advantage of the uniqueness of the Wii. The surgery game is actually one of my favorite games and even though most levels are similar they always feel different because you actually have to do everything right. Not just push the right buttons but hold it the right way, move it at the right speed, etc.
You're going to regret that when Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, and Smash Bros. Brawl comes out...
Those are the only games I see that I might want to play but as I stated before the graphics are the same if not slightly better than that of the Gamecube also I feel that the cube was capable of those graphics (resident evil 4). I just can't seem to get addicted to the controller and it's not just the Wii I feel the same with the Ps3 sixaxis when trying to use it like the Wii-mote, at least with the Ps3 I can say the graphics are next gen and most games don't use the sensor, in my openion it gets pretty boring after a while, call me old school but then again this technollogy has been around before (lightgun for the NES) just updated some.
Well kudos to Nintendo for their sales but I do feel that they will eventually need next gen graphics to compete. imagine playing a Punch Out with next gen graphics (Ps3/360) with the Wii-mote now that will be sweeeeeeeet.
