I'm curious about it, especially since it's the guys who made Dead Space, but I'm still on the fence if I think it's going to be a good game or not.
Dead Space was initially hailed as a Resident Evil knock off and then turned out to be a really great game that was executed really well and brought a whole bunch of new things to the table. I'm hoping they can repeat that effort in the comparison to being a God of War rip off
mw2 has my full attention and its not even out yet. I
might consider buying this one though. I like fast action style rpg and since its like gow, i think i will enjoy it
Just played the demo. Wow is all I can say. Sure it plays like GOW but there is some tweeks here and there. The punish and absolve option is neat. I thought it was only going to happen after boss fights but you can do it any time. And it effects the the weapons that go with it. Along with filling up your hellish or righteous side gauge.
I was looking forward to Dante's Inferno (*WAS*) but that was before I played and immediately deleted the demo.
There is nothing wrong with copying God of War as long as it's done well and adds a few new ideas here and there but Sony Santa Monica should sue Visceral Games immediately. Dante's Inferno, when compared to the best hack and slashers, just felt plodding, slow, simplistic, and has an overall milieu of overcompensation. It's also scarily and pathetically derivative of God of War in a Single White Female stalker kind of way; everything from the QTEs, the green energy fountains, the souls dropped from enemies used as currency, the "overdrive" superpowered mode that the protagonist can access, the button prompts appearing above enemies after inflicting a set amount of damage, the nudity and violence, the battle filled backgrounds, the tortured anti-hero protagonist, etc., is all just a copy/paste of Kratos's game. Dante's Inferno introduces NO original ideas of its own.
While I loved Visceral's last game (Dead Space, which was a copy of Resident Evil 4 but unlike the new game, it did it well while also introducing new ideas), they have hit a complete TEH EPIC COPYCAT FAILZ with Dante's Inferno so I will pass.
Oh, and one more thing: I played the Dante's Inferno demo immediately prior to playing Bayonetta and I can only conclude that third person hack and slashers are like cars: the Japanese still make the best.

Although I agree with the ripping off Kratos and GOW, you also have to understand that it's hard to make an original game/movie/song now a days... It's always going to be a variation of something someone else has already done. But I accept this with open arms. What's better than one prono with a lesbo teacher holding a student after class? Another one with different girls

Understood, but again, there is nothing wrong with copying another game as long as it's done well and new original ideas are introduced here and there, e.g., Dead Space, Shadow Complex, Bayonetta, etc. Dante's Inferno has NO identity of its own and Visceral must have literally copied and pasted God of War's programming code into their game. I wouldn't blame Sony Santa Monica for consulting its lawyers at this very moment.
If you can, try playing the Dante's Inferno demo and then immediately play the God of War 3 and Bayonetta demos. The obvious quality, imagination, and originality differences will come across, trust me.
