I saw it this weekend and holy crap it was ridiculous. I thought it was a cool movie but I have never facepalmed so many times before due to some of the worst one liners and just impossible scenes(I know its a movie but damn...)
It goes along the same lines as Transformers 2, dont go in expecting a good plot and a movie that makes sense, simply go in expecting to see the world end on film(lots of $hit blowing up and what not)

too long (almost 3 hrs) for just a mediocre movie, and if it's like Transformers 2 I'll pass- I loved the first one, the second was just rushed to screen to cash in.
wait till 2012?? did u know the calander we use actually started in year 3 ( A.D.)
so.. that means 2012 is actually dec 22 ( or whatever day ) 2009... creepy.

Very painful to watch. Covered my ears and eyes at certain moments because they were so incredibly stupid that I was actually embarrassed for the movie. I mean Stargate and Independence Day were actually really great movies for their time. WTF was this crap?
The original trailer looked interesting but the newest one I saw made it look pathetic and WAY over the top. I migth see if, on the fence though. Originally I was definitely going to.

Exactly. It's not a good 'movie', it's just a bunch of really overdone animation/graphics work of the world blowing up, lots of loud crashing explosions, and it's over 2 hours long. Waste of time IMO.

Yes, several scenes were over the top but overall I enjoyed it. But then again, its only $5 for movies on a Tuesday, so maybe thats why.
Either way I still enjoyed it -- I went in thinking it would be a pathetic movie, but something fun to watch (SFX and all) but it turned out to be pretty decent, even including the over the top SFX earlier in the movie (it wasn't that bad later in the movie).
I was hoping for it to be good, but I couldn't even finish the movie. It was pretty crap. Too cheesy and too ridiculous. Didn't realize it was almost 3 hours. Glad I didn't stay for the whole thing. Similar to the other movie where the world freezes. It was crap too. I wasn't even that impressed with the special effects. Don't see it. Might not even be worth a rental. It only cost me $3, but I wish I had spent that time playing MW2.
