Good look. Will be picking it up this evening (you know it!).

Speaking of the God, who's the new "savior" of hip hop? All I keep hearing about is Drake. But I'm not so sure (especially since he seems to associate himself with the problems). Instead, maybe it's Wale. This Attention Deficit album is pretty dayum good! Really the only FF material is the first single Chillin'.

Just saw him in DC @ Black Cat on 11/15/09 [if this site would act right I could post up my pics]. Rhymefest was the opening act and he was OK, but the God killed it. Definitely picking this up after work tonight. Smilez, I snagged promo posters [just mailed one to Lynch. Let me know if you want one.]

Great point. I forgot about Lupe among the "newer artists". I guess I'm thinking about all the hype Drake is getting as the new "spitter" so I'm thinking about other cats that don't have a studio album out yet. I need to see if I can find some Jay Electronica stuff too. I'm so out of it.

Ive always liked Rhymefest, mostly from Scribble Jam..His writing has always been better than his flow though.

Thanks again for getting that out to me Wyzi...that kicks ass.

I read a few reviews online that say the album is hurt by uninspiring production and that he should have waited for Dre to eventually get around to providing beats for his album . Still checking it out though.

For some (Mos, KRS, Rakim, Common) I dont need a single beat to enjoy them. I was reading some articles..lol, one was an interview back in 06' talking about this CD being due in early 07'. Ugh.

Picked it up last night. On the first listen, I'd have to say 3/5 mics. You can hear a heavy Go-Go influence on the first couple songs [and I hate go-go music]and the rest seems to fall a little flat. I may be a little biased because I was listening to Paid in Full in the car on the ride to work and put in his new joint on the ride home, so I was kind of expecting something completely different. It may take a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th listen for me to ignore the beats and concentrate on his lyrics. One thing, if your car is really bass heavy, turn it down because it'll completly drown out his voice. Be interested to hear what other fans think.....

I got a nice little $100 spiff card this morning. I'll be picking this up tonight. Does he still have a jazz feel to him? I'll try not to compare to the classics, they all fall flat if you do. So, does this CD keep him at or near the top of the all time rankings for you, Wyzi?

He will forever remain in my top 10 GOAT's, but as with most old school artists fighting to remain relevant in the "skinny jeans era" it gets hard to keep spending money when the product doesn't seem that great. If you're trying to add to a collection, I'd definitely pick it up.
