View Poll Results: 2009 my350z.com Game of the Year
We all know which game is going to win since people here are such groupthink lemmings and sheep but this might still prove interesting.
My pick is New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Why? Besides the fact that it is pure nostalgic gaming bliss and as close to perfect 2D platforming you can get, I had an absolute blast playing this with non-gamers. Sure, they were impressed when I booted up and played Modern Warfare 2, Gears of War 2, Resident Evil 5, etc., but the game they actually played and could actually play because of the lack of overly complicated controls was New Super Mario. It has accessibility written all over it.
I have to make a special mention for my very close second pick Uncharted 2. That game's attention to detail is unbelievable, everything from character animations, voice acting, great story, engaging characters, etc., has a level of depth and polish that is obvious, not to mention that it is the best looking game I've ever seen.
So my top 3 are:
3. Blazblue: Calamity Trigger
2. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
1. New Super Mario Bros. Wii

I think I will get a lot more playtime out of MW:2, and I don't care if it makes me a lemming, the game is great and popular for a reason.
I think borderlands is a good stepping stone for a better company to spin off a game in the same genre, but don't feel it's worthy as a game of the year title, just something that was fun for a week.
Anyone play Prototype though? Probably one of the coolest games I've ever played, along with the coolest character/abilities.
Assassin's Creed 2 is what I voted though...however I think MW2 is going to take the cake.
Playing Prototype now. It's okay, the controls are not great and the story is meh and some of the missions are frustrating episodes of trial and error. I liked InFamous better.

I have the PC version of Prototype...I hate new games that force me to change audio settings..lol. Started it up and got some chipmunk sounding dialog. Had to lower the hertz to make it recognizable. Seems like a cool game, but more of a time waster than a truly great game, IMO. 30 minutes to waste? Lets kill sh!t in Prototype!

I voted MW2. I think it is as perfect a sequel as you can make. MW1 was a great game, and they polished it up, improved what needed to be improved, and added some new things in, all without changing its core gameplay mechanics or the feeling you get playing the game.

Dude Prototype sucks, gets soooooo old after a short time. Its cool how u can fly and stuff, and drive tanks...but its just non-stop same thing in the same city the entire game.
Modern Warfare 2 ftmfw. I spent 25 bucks on map packs 2-3 for World at War then went and bought MW2....so in hindsight just wasted 25 bucks on maps noone online wants to play.

Couldn't have said it better myself... This isn't a contest so much as a MY350 PSA. Not to mention it's like 3 games in one but it's not 3 mediocre games in 1 2 of them could be sold seperately and still sell..

MW2 off of replay value alone... I liked Killzone 2 but the aiming in it was terrible. Once I finished the game I had no interest in playing online. Up until MW2 I was still playing MW1 it goes to show it is best bang for buck IMHO.
