This thread will start in May and will last 90 days in its initial duration. Last year I had a few medical set backs. 1 being at wrestling practice my left Tibia suffered what is known as a plank fracture. This left my leg in a locked position and non weight bearing for 3 months while the bone healed back in place.
Then upon the release from the brace that was containing my knee, an MRI discovered a torn meniscus in that same area which resulted in a knee scope on Sept 11th. Meniscus was ok, but I had a lot of arthritis built up in my knee so the surgeon created micro fractures and scraped out the knee. You guessed it 3 more months in the lock down leg brace.
Now if all of this wasn't enough to derail my workout schedule and cardio routine. My daughter was born the end of July, and some of you know what that is like. long nights, low sleep, fast food meals, etc.
Well, was up to an all time high at the beginning of this year. 6'2" weighing in at...........278lbs.
Scary thing is I will be weighing in in a few weeks and I will come across the scale at 211 that day. Mind you, I will be a lot dehydrated.
So after I rehydrate, eat and perform my PRT. I will indulge myself in some good for exactly 1 week. Then the program starts.
I have never been an overly large person, until a few years ago when I was sick and put on steroids (not the kind you guys are thinking). My weight ballooned up from my normal 205 all the way to 275 in 3 short months and also caused a few other problems. My diabetes being the worst one.
I know that by the end of the 90 days I will be off of my medication and have my sugars controlled due to proper diet, supplementation and the increase in lean muscle mass with decrease in body fat %.
I'm not focused on weight loss, as that is only a small portion of the story. I want my lean muscle back.
I have only a few goals
-size 34 jeans again
-size large shirts again
-look good with my shirt off again
-If everything goes right in my life during this program, all you MMA guys that know Team Quest might be in for a surprise. That is all I am going to say about that.
besides the program which will be done after work, since we both get home around the same time.
I will be doing AM cardio and boxing conditioning at work.
A few nights during the week, I will be heading over to either Throwdown to work BJJ with Dean Lister or over to Und1sputed for MMA workouts.
Wrestling workout will come from one of two places. Team Quest on the weekends or the little local group here in SD called the Bulldogs (mostly allows me to work on take down defense, since a lot of the guys are older. Plus now that I am over 35 I may compete for them a few times later this year in the senior division.
feel free to post anything you feel is relevant, but be warned I will move posts so everything I post will be in order and easy to read.

Good luck!! Wish you the best!! BTW if you came to my basic training for 60 days.. Id get you better results..
lol, I am long past basic training. I cannot do the running or high impact things anymore since the knees looked so bad inside the surgeon said.
short duration impact exercise is not even advised, but he wont kill me for doing it. Until my first total knee replacement that is lol
