I've used this product. Good taste. Not sure what side effects you may 'expect' from protein, but I had none.
As far as proteins go, I usually stick to the GNC Brand. Big 4LB tub of Soy protein (25g protein per scoop, 90 cal., I take 3) is like 40 bucks. Tastes great with 1% milk and a strawberry or 2 mixed in.
Nitrotech is a bit expensive... I didn't notice a difference when I switched to cheaper stuff.
