Interesting. I haven't heard that getting sore from lactic acid can make you put on fat.
I'm no nutrition expert (my wife is I'll ask her later) but I'm from the 4 basic food groups train of thought. It sounds to me like this guy is preying on lazy Americans by perpetuating a fad diet. The before and after pics have a lot of power over the viewer.
In my opinion, those people lost the weight from eating a low fat, high protein diet(fish) and exercising-which is esentially what he is saying with the spin of it being "low acidity". Anyone can do the same exact thing WITHOUT buying his book and still eating meats. If latic acid (what makes your muscles sore) makes you fat, what happened to me and every other guy that trains HARD?
It's another fad diet. You can pick up a nutritional guide from 1990 and be fine. We haven't evolved much since then. Get my drift?

This is slightly off topic, but from what I've read, contrary to popular belief lactic acid does not cause DOMS.

That's what I'm thinking too.
But putting the diet aside, do you think this water is that much better than regular water?
I just watched the video and I agree with Phreak. Sound like a gimmick.
BTW, truth be told, the best thing you can drink is coconut water. It is isotonic meaning it contains water and electrolytes in the exact amounts and proportions as the human body making it perfect for hydration.
