How do you guys deal with doms (delayed on-set muscle soreness) you guys take any thing for pain? just this week I switched my work out routine and well I am in a state where I cant even put on a shirt comfortably.( I usually change up my routine and exercises every 12weeks)
Just work through it and do some stretches before and after your routine. For me, I've noticed that once I get blood flowing to the area and start moving, the soreness lessens or goes away completely. I know my squat days would nearly be ruined because of how sore my legs were, but usually after a jog and some stretching they wouldn't bother me anymore.
Drinking lots of water also seems to help. I've read that it helps your body remove the lactic acid build-up that's causing the soreness.
Glutamine probably works best, it not only speeds up recovery but helps to maximize your gains, beyond that just fluid and rest like The Captain stated.
Stretching will help recovery a lot. Another thing that helps a lot is deep tissue massage, but that can get expensive If can afford to, buy some Glutamine and BCAAs and take them PWO, that will help also.

Okay, now my helpful answer: as previously stated, drink lots of water and when your done training a bodypart, make sure to stretch it out postworkout thoroughly. GL.

Just some stuff to try.
+1 Getting some blood into the muscle def helps you loosen up. I've never been in so much pain that I had to take anything though. I actually like being sore.

water definately, stretching helps, when i take Halo from muscletech-i have little or no soreness-it has tons of glutamine in it-i am sure you can buy some glutamine tabs instead-probably cheaper-my workout partner brought some for me to try a few times-they helped but did not seem as
good as the halo-the liquid for probably breaks down better than a large
chalky like tab-looks like a big sweet tart candy.

If I wake up in the morning and I'm not hurting I get pissed.
Don't try working a muscle that is already sore. But if its something like your triceps that are bothering you on back day, then just deal with it. The longer you stick to a routine the more your body will adapt the the frequency and volume you're doing. I hardly every get sore anymore and I'm still making consistent strength gains, but I know if I take a couple weeks off then have a max effort day I'm going to be paying for it the next morning. In that case I would ease into my routine for the first week or two.
Just remember if you do reach a point where you stop getting DOMS, it's not a problem. Don't use DOMS as an indicator of a good or bad workout.

Oh yeah and muscletech is garbage.
I was not promoting all of their products-i have tried other ones they make and was not impressed, halo worked great for me though-everyones
body is different-i tried a bunch of different products recently for pre and
post workouts and that one was the best in my opinion-i am sure there are other brands out there that are better(ones that i have not tried yet-
i got 2 bags full of free samples from the Europa show of champions back in april)
i hated nano vapor-had much better results from a product called juggernaut and from labrada supercharge for pre-workout

Do the best you can to find an alternative to whatever muscletech product you find useful. The entire product line is overpriced and they rely on their big name and marketing hype to sell their **** primarily to people new to working out who dont need it. I'd say you can find something just as effective for a cheaper price if you ask around, reviews might be helpful also.
As stated earlier, lactic acid resulting in DOMS is a farce.
DOMS is just something you have to learn to live with, if you are no longer getting sore from your workouts, its time to switch it up. If you want to minimize it, eat more.
Structuring a routine based on how sore you are is not a good way of going about lifting. A person can rake leaves all day and wake up the next day sore as hell from it, does that mean they got a good strength training workout from it? Absolutely not.
Don't change your routine because you're not waking up in pain. Change your routine when you stop making gains and adding weight to the bar. Pain or no pain, if your lifts are going up, why change a thing?

i have to admit my workout partner said he got little to no results from the halo but another guy in my gym says he loves nano-vapor, another guy swares by nano and halo and he is real strong and big. i do agree they go for the whole hype and over-advertising scheme.
