hey im looking to pick up a weighted vest (at least 60lbs) im going to be running/running stairs with it, anyone have any experience before i drop $200 on something i know nothing about?
I used to wear it and run with my buddy who played Soccer for cardio and we both ran out of cuss words after the end of our workout.
Great way to kick your arse fast.

I use to have a 80lb weight vest (Xvest) but I'd recommend buying some IVANKO weight plates 2 25lb, 2 30lb and just run stairs with those. I actually run the stairmaster with 2 45lbs.. Weight vests are cool but I always felt like they jacked with my lower part of my back or the inner part of my neck also felt harder on my joints too (Same principle as someone overweight having joint issues)
With a plates like this they are easy to carry and you could also use it for more like curls shoulder press etc..
With the Weights if you joints start to hurt its simple to just put down the weight and keep going while keeping the heart rate up and just pick them up on the second round up were as a vest its not as simple. (You might have to try it to understand what I'm talking about)
Also, with weights you can change weight you carry on the fly, weight vests you usually would have to take the vest off then load the plates to add weight.
i picked up a MIR 75lb vest(their short vest) it was about $230 shipped but there are not that many out there over 40 lbs and i figured if im going to be spending over $100 i might as well get a really good one. The quality is really good on it and im sure it will hold up. I went running in it today with 30lbs in it and boy did it kick my but. my only complaint is the chest strap on it, what it should have is 2 straps on each side that are sewn to the back and clip in the front. what it has is one strap that goes all the way around and Velcros to the front and back. I think if it had the proper straps it wouldn't bounce so much and would be easier to put on.
