Back when I did track in University I would not allow myself to go over 14 plates a side or 1260 pounds. I've noticed quite a variation by machine however.
On squats I would not let myself go over 405 pounds.
I'm also 5'9" 5' 10' ish. 180.
6 or 7 years later I notice the pain in my knees now when I start getting close to that.
no offence to anyone. but the only guys ive ever seen do that much on leg press. is one guy who was a 350lb jacked bodybuilder. and a bunch of dudes in the gym who cheat big time. id believe the claims here, if i seen a video of someone doing this, and taking the weight down to the point where your knees form at least a 90 degree angle.
and ya, there is definitely a big difference between leg press set ups. that new technogym equipment, it doesnt even use rollers. its like hammer strength equipment, it just uses a pivot point. on a normal leg press i do 6 plates a side, for 8-12 reps. but this technogym thing, i can do 9 plates a side for 8-12.

Wait a sec, this is the workout section of my350z right? I thought everyone here was all swole and jacked with great genetics and could've been a pro bb'er but just chose not to.
ok next time I do legs I'll try and get a video.
I was just happy I did it and wanted to share..
I'll admit though, I'm not jacked nor was I was going for form.
Most of the time I do things people people don't think about and I'm more for useful strength than size
Here are a few videos of me about a year ago and I'm way better now than before.

I did 28 plates, and I would do it for 6 reps. I was a 100m runner for 12 years. I would allow the top of my quads to touch my stomach before I pushed up. The machines I used had rollers on rails. I have seen the pivoting machines however.

as a 100m dasher, i might buy that. those dudes in the olympics look like they could leg press a house.
Thats you? And you can do 22 plates? you have GOT to be kidding me. you must be herculessss!!!!!
That was me over a year ago and at that time I wasnt even doing legs yet, and yes I did 22 plates. Believe what you want, next time I do it I'll get a video
If you want to see hercules look for Ronnie Coleman's leg press video. He did 2300 lbs at 5'11" with a weight of 296 lbs lbs for lbs he's one I'd call Herculesss.. Cause even at my weight I'd still have to press almost 400lbs more just to be close to the same ratio as him
Definitely believable, dude. I've seen crazy ish in my day.
I've seen dudes come in at night weighing around 175lbs pumping out 315lbs on bench like it was 185lbs.
Then there are my buddies who play/played for the NFL who liked to shame me off-season by doing 450lbs for reps on bench then going to the track and sprinting like a Jamaican.
