Nismo v.1 spoiler question
Who makes a decent JDM style replica of the nismo v.1 spoiler? Currently have the USDM version; will the JDM style replica cover or use the holes of the USDM version? This may sound like a stupid question to some, but please no BS!
Thanks in advance

yes, it will cover. i assume you didnt have the oem spoiler since the USDM nismo doesnt cover. well the JDM uses the outside 2 holes of where the oem spoiler was . but i doubt the lower holes will be the same since the wing base of the USDM is shorter than the JDM.
for a good replica try the VIS from mynismo.com or if you want a CF version (like i have) PM punksterz626.

the VIS is pretty good almost exact JDM fitment. only a little bow in the center where there is a slight space between the spoiler base and the hatch. (some of that is normal from pics ive seen of various members )
now the wing i got from punkster fits alot like the VIS except there is a little more gap between the base and the hatch and the tips dont quite touch the hatch. it is so close though that you cant tell from the sides and you can barely fit your small finger between the wing tip and the hatch
mine might even need one more screw up top to lessen that gap in the middle but ive been too lazy to do it. it doesnt bother me enough to take the wing off and drill maybe some 3m tape would work too

Thanks for the reply; how many holes does the ViS version require? Also, is the ViS version's base longer on both sides, you know, to cover all four corner holes of the USDM version's base (if that's even how it is mounted )?

i believe 4. how many did your USDM use? doesnt it have a hole in the upper middle section?
yes the base is longer on the VIS or any true JDM replica . it arcs with the hatch where the USDM doesnt.
i know it covers the lower two holes.
like i said the guys at mynismo.com know all about this spoiler and will be glad to confirm all this for you before you buy

Well Andy, seems like you work with performance nissan, so maybe you can answer my question, b/c I e-mailed you guys, and the answer I got back was that the USDM will leave holes. I had already checked out the link you provided me, in fact, that is where it all spawned from. If I switch from a USDM Nismo v1 spoiler to the ViS spoiler, I know that it will cover or utilize the holes left towards the rear of the hatch (where the ViS is supposed to line up w/ the hatch)...BUT, will it cover or utilize the holes from the USDM Nismo v1 spoiler towards the front of the car (closest to the rear glass)?
Thanks

CarbonLTD, very nice set-up!! Any more pics? Rumor has it that it is harder to paint CF parts than it is any other material. Is that true? If yes, how much more can one expect to pay to get it painted?
Thanks

Carbon fiber is no harder to paint then any other piece. I know of many people who have painted there carbon fiber hoods with no problems at all.
