Default Removal of oem spoiler...

I looked around the forum for a how to.. I am installing a nismo CF wing, but first I need to remove the oem spoiler. Who has done this themselves, and what problems am I going to run into? Any tips? please let me know, as I would rather do it myself, than pay some jerk at the body shop do it. Thanks.

remove the hatch lining. remove the bolts. then you have deal with the double sided tap which is the hardest part. use dental floss to betwen the wing and car. good luck.

If you happen to break any of the plugs that hold the lining in, I bought replacements at AutoZone. All of mine came out except for two and I had to yank them out with a pair of pliers. You'll probably want some Goo Gone for the tape crud. DON'T use alcohol. I did when removing a logo and darned near took all the paint off. DOH!
Biggest advice. S-L-O-W-L-Y!

Default Remove OEM spoiler

Hi,

I'm new to the forum. I took the lining off , took the two lugnut off from the inside of the trunk. I use fising line to go through between the spoiler and the trunk but I could only get as far as to the two bolts. The bolts look like they are installed to the wing. How did you get it off. Thank you in advance for your advice.

Obviously they go through bro, you just took the nuts off. Just use the fishing line to go around as much you can and then rip that bastard off.

Default Remove oem spoiler

Thanks everyone for your help. I was able to go underneath the trunk lid and loop the fishing line over the bolt to remove the rest of the tape. Took much longer than I thought. Couldn't have done it without your help. Thanks!!!!!
