I did a quick search and didn't see any similar topics. Has anyone tried these? I suppose the 'white' effect would require running another wire to the bulb.

That is my video, and they do not require an extra wire. It's all internal. Simply replace your 1157 bulb with that one and you are done. There are a few other socket types available, but only in the dual stage variants.
