Alright so I got my double hump roof in today. I laid it on to test fit and it's perfect. I'm gonna be taking step by step pictures on how to do this.
Before I do though, is there any advice you guys can give me? I think im pretty safe with pre drilling small holes into the carbon roof and the stock roof and then putting the screws in. Is there anything I should be aware of such as the carbon cracking or breaking off or where and how I should screw it in?
Going to dinner and plan on putting it on when I get back so any help while i'm gone is appreciated.
Side Note: I've searched and researched as much as i can about doing this but just looking for help from people who have already done it.

nope. i've found some stuff on how to do it but al i've really gotten out of it is put some tape on some parts and drill in the rest but I dont wanna drill it and ruin it by having it crack.

So it will be 100% fine without the screws?
Maybe if I just put the epoxy on the edges that go under the a pillars where I'm supposed to drill and then use the tape on the rest of it.
The problem is that most of the roof cap doesn't come in contact with the actual roof which is why your'e supposed to drill it.
If I epoxy the whole thing won't that make it a more permanent solution?
I bought the only 3m double side tape I could find at 6 different stores last night.
Is this the right stuff?

Go to your local auto parts store, and get 3M Body Molding tape. that'll be stronger, and is made for vehicle applications.

As Devari mentioned, household double-sided tape, like the indoor/outdoor tape that's pictured isn't going to react well to weather. Use the body molding tape. that'd be the best to use, along with screwing it in.

dont use epoxy. please no... Just using an 8 dollar tube of clear silicone adhesive will form a nice serious bond, and if you REALLY wanted to, you can cut it off again w an olfa blade and alot of patience..
screws= rust. period.
I promise you, if you use clear silicone adhesive, you will be happy, and the install will be mad easy. and the clean up isnt terrible either.. just the smell while it sets up. it will burn the ol nose like a good weekend in Vegas.

oh and 3m tape is good, but to be honest, as good as it is supposed to be, even w thorough prep.. it comes off..always.
it lets stuff past, like dirty dusty water etc... and then it starts to fail from the edge, and then it lifts, etc....ive dealt w alot of external carbon in my time.. glue it w the sticky, every time.. always better results.

Alright guys. Just picked up the body molding tape,a mask so i dont breathe in the dust from the cf,and some epoxy.
(mainly for some of the a pillar snap in screw things that are ridiculously fragile and broke of of the pillar way to easily.)
I'm just gonna be really careful and follow the instructions devari gave since they're the same ones asuka gave (along with all other info i've dug up about drilling cf) in another thread i found.
I would use the silicone but I don't want it to be permanent or damage the roof if i ever decide to get rid of it.It's not my DD so it doesn't get driven a lot and between the screws, epoxy and the tape I'm not too worried about it flying off.
For those asking. I got it from DTM Auto.more about them later.
But I got the last one they had so good luck finding it.
Buying another one isn't an option so wish me luck. Time to get started.

I finished drilling the cf roof and the through the car. It was really easy going through the cf. just covered it in masking tape, put no pressure on the drill and took my time. Then I went to a bigger bit size and did it all again. The front passenger side of the roof didn't have nearly enough room to do the bigger size without cracking.
I'm getting smaller screws for the front holes and different screws for the back because the ones i had were too big and wouldve cracked it.
I'm uploading the pics to my computer right now.
I'll post the finished pictures in this thread but tomorrow I'm gonna make a new diy format one with step by step instructions with lots of pictures in the diy section.
