the best thing about this product is that it isn't permanent. you can mess up as many times as you want...and it just peels right off.
since i hate my exterior door handles so much...i've contemplated on doing it. but since its a high traffic area...i'm sure it will look like complete *** as time passes.

I'm having a hell of a time finding anyone around here that actually carries the aerosol matte black plasti-dip. I've tried Ace, True Value, Home Depot, all of which are listed on Performix's site as distributors, yet the employees at said establishments all look at me like I'm speaking Klingon when I ask if they have it. I guess I'm going to have to buy it online and have it shipped to me.

I've never heard of this stuff, I would love to use this for the scratches on the switch bezels and the waterfall cubby hole button... I'm assuming everything has to be sanded first?

Also, I read somewhere (maybe earlier this thread) that in order to get the cubby button out you need to remove the cubby door, which requires removing the entire center console. Doesn't sound like fun....I may try spraying some plastidip into a small container and brushing it on by hand with the button left in place.

Open the cubby door and locate all of the philips screws on the backside. The back panel will come right off along with the cubby button/mechanism. I've personally never done it this way, but having disassembled and reassembled the center dash 4 times now, I know how the pieces go together.
The easier route, however, would be to mask around the button and spray it.

option
just tossing this in there.....
I've repainted my whole waterfall area. I didn't use plasti-dip tho. I wish I had taken before pictures but I used SEM paint. I've had really good luck with their products in the past, having painted several interiors. It's good for textured surfaces like the waterfall consoles and the cubby. I'm chiming in because the cubby button was completely worn down and I was able to just spray over it.
here is a picture of the after
Plasti-dip does look like a really great product tho! especially on door handles and exterior parts. what does it feel like as far as texture goes?

My door exterior and interior door handles have held up perfectly.
No sanding needed. Just paint and peel around the edges.
As for the texture, Its almost the same texture as the oem paint on the interior door control panel.
