certainly a good idea to make molds of your finished parts.. then we can see your pictures, and we can organize a group buy. Im sure youd be happy to make ten of them at once over one week for a heathy sum of cash.. thats how it works. And then ppl will stumble across the thread as time goesw on, and if you ahve the mold, you can one offs for them..
if you can work in f-glass, people will pay dearly for it for sure.

Soooo, I spent the majority of my time simply starring at it, trying to figure the ins and outs of how this will all come together, rather than shaping the foam and fiberglassing.
Got a bit of a problem in the fact that I don't think I can make a "nice looking" gauge cowl or bonnet without moving the triple gauges forward and leveled out. If I just build it without moving it you can barely see the multi-gauge and they are set back in there too far. plus to make them fit in the back it there it just ends up too BIG of a piece, doesn't look good. needs to stay level with the driver gauges & look overall smaller and more streamline. If i tipped it to face the driver like the gauges do, then the transition to the side pieces looks really off. I'll keep working on it but I just don't know how to sell a gauge dome, without severe modification. It would be possible to build a nice one, but it would be quite different from what im trying to do as of now, and would look more like the center 3 gauges on a wrx.
Now I need to hold off on shaping the bonnet till I move the gauges then I can carve the foam to match.
This is my idea of a mass produceable product. no modifications would just be a bolt on product. but still need to work out how the top fades into the dash(kinda just cut it off the top on the cardboard. But could be finished in leather & top stitch, painted, of even carbon fiber. and could feature a iphone mount for those who want it.
here's some pictures of how my hand fits between the two side pieces. You'd have to have really thick hands and hold your wrist at some crazy fukin angle for this to be in the way of shifting & ergonomics. Shown below is first gear.
a asymmetrical design could be pretty sweet
couple more for the road (keep in mind the foam is falling down and isn't "exactly" where they should be.)

i was searching and came across triple gauge flat top pieces, an ran across this: http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/ite...tKey=LLMUSTANG
wondering if this would work either with or without the upper bonnet?

instead of that big bulky thing as a guage cover, how about keeping it very thin across the guages.. sticking out over the guage faces only a 1/4 inch, and only being as think as maybe the same 1/4 inch.
Really just something for that foam going up each side to rise up to.. it doesnt have to actually hide those guages etc..

thanks for explaining, I should start only posting picks of my dog back their, goes EVERYWHERE with me EVERYDAY.
my z is my daily......
ya this is on the right track. but im definately going to build mine from scratch
agreed but i want my gauges forward/down. so then they stick still only stick out that 3/4 inch...... continued......
completely with you on that.... you have to keep in mind that is oversized and has a added thickness to it, i have yet to shape it and give it its final "look." Front and bottom especially, But with the gauges where they are it causes the whole cowl/bonnet to have to be up to high. cant keep a low profile to it with them up there. look at my og design the gauges would be in the middle of my bonnet.
let me play around in illustrator for a few see if i can't show you what i can't explain

some more sketches....
original, gauges moved, low profile
lets call this v2 for explanatory purposes, gauges not moved, kinda looks funny to me.
and lets call this v1, easily mass produceable, no modifications needed.
