Headlight wiring harness help!!
I bought halo projection headlights from Spec-D tuning for my 04 base model Z. The instructions and site says they are plug and play but I'm having trouble playing cause they won't plug. The new head lights have 6 pin male ends wile the Z's wiring harness has 8 pin female connectors. I don't know how to fix this and would appreciate any sort of solutions. It's my first cat and have only had it for a week, I'm sorry if there's an obvious fix. Thanks!
Was just told by a friend the reason the harness had 8 pin were because they had HIDs, hopefully that helps.

Such bad headlights. Use the excuse that they're not plug&play to return them. The Depo lights are much better, although a bit more money. You'll still have the same wiring issue, though, but at least the effort is worth it with the Depo lights. Search for the Depo thread in the Exterior & Interior forum and read it thoroughly.

dcains is right. The Depo lights are the way to go, are on my own list of things to get as well. They will be 8-pin at the light as well though, so you'll have to resolve that issue still, but it's very doable. In fact...I'm about to do it myself as well. (I have a different set of HID lights that are 8-pin but may pick up a set of Depo's later this year or next)
For the wiring...you can manually reroute the wires a couple of ways, or, you can buy a new ballast that is six pin already, but that's another $150 or so I think.
But to encourage you toward a solution I think you'll be much happier with...again...return those lights you bought and buy the Depo's.
Hope this helps,

I think you'll find the light output and beam pattern will the real issue. I travel to Hawai'i a few times a year, Big Island, and I don't know where you are, but I want good lights for that mostly rural environment.
Nice thing about the Z, and this site, is that the car is now ~12 years old, so just about everything you can think of has been already done. Out of all the many aftermarket headlights out there, the ONLY ones that have been proven to be acceptable in performance are the Depo brand. They're still not on par with the '06> OEM Bi-Xenon's, but they're close enough, and inexpensive enough.

Sorry guys to be bringing up such an old conversation but why exactly do y'all say to avoid the Spec-d headlights? I'm looking to invest in a pair before too long to put in my '05z. I love the look of them and everywhere I look I can't find anything negative about them. I'm just wondering if I should just keep looking of just invest In them.
